Are blurple lights really that bad?

Had to give it a great title, but that's kind of my question. I have this light https://budsgrowguide.com/marshydro-mars600-led-grow-light/ bought 6-7 years ago. Seems to be burning my plants at 1.5 - 2' from them. I do want to upgrade soon, to something better. I'm growing in a tiny tent right now, I think its roughly 2.5' x 2.5' x 5.5'. I see people complaining on here about them all the time, and was just wondering if there is a reason for it or do people just hate them. If I was to replace it, with something I would want something with a dimmer and something that would be viable if I ever did decide to get a bigger tent. Even though I have had this light this long, this is only my second grow, and its clear that the light is what is doing the damage. Thanks in advance.

One other thing, this light puts off tons of heat. I notice newer light models don't even have fans on the power supplies, so I assume they are more efficient. Do all LED's put off a ton of heat like this one does?

Blurples are antiquated technology, inefficient and poor spectrum.
Any modern ~200w light from the 2020s would be a huge improvement.
Prices have plummeted as well, so a good time to consider an upgrade

Personally I don't think their completely bad they are just so misleading to new growers. With watt equivalent listed instead of watts draw. That's always in the fine print and is usually over looked by new growers. They do produce heat but only because you have to run a number of them to get the same watts as a newer led or a quantum board. Anyone who thinks all blurples are shit they haven't seen a black dog put in work. But price wise were amazon is a 100 bucks or around vs black dog which are around a grand says alot towards you get what you pay for.

It's not worth growing using blurples considering the cost, time, and effort you put into a grow. Start with a decent fixture using lm301b samsung diodes and meanwell drivers-these things are everywhere now, lots to choose from and great deals to be had. You'll be so happy you ditched that blurp. Just come back and ask before you buy a fixture if you aren't sure you're getting the right light. Good luck!

Seems would be a good fit for my tent, and if I get a bigger tent, then could just get a second one since they tie in together.

I've got a Black Dog burple and it does me fine, but I wouldn't buy any other burples I see on the market.

The Scorpion Diablo is a very interesting light.
