It all depends! How big do you want them? Are you going to train them out? I could have 8 covering 12 sq ft or 8 covering 32 sq ft, lots of variables. The size of the plant will determine the size of the container you need.Ok thanks for the heads up guys. One thing I only have 12 liter fabric pots as thats what came with the tents package. Is it good enough? Or should I have another 4 pots to help my scrog fill out better.

I wanted to fill it out as much as possible but I was wondering if 12l pots are good enough for that area. I was thinking 1 1/2 veg?^What he said. SOG would be 32+, or you could just run 4, with a long veg and grow monsters. I run 6 5gals in a 4.5x4.5 with room for a couple more. I think I'd run 16,3 gals in a 4x8. Assuming 600w+ per 4x4 area. You could probably fit more, but I like space to work.
What light you using? Lower wattage, under 600w, go with more, smaller plants. 600w+, less, but bigger, plants.
It all depends on veg time. Seems a bunch of people like #3 nursery pots, or 3 gal pots to finish in after about 4 weeks veg and they seem to be fine up to about a 3 ft plant.Don't shortchange yourself with pots. It is well worth it to get the bigger ones. I would go with 15 gallons but that's just me. I like bigger yields. Of course if you are flowering small plants you could go with smaller pots, but why waste all that space with just a few plants?
Growing from seed or clone? 12L is fine with a 6 week veg from seed. It might be ok from clone, you'll probably have to water more often, maybe feed a little more than a larger pot. It's hard to say, depends on too many factors.I wanted to fill it out as much as possible but I was wondering if 12l pots are good enough for that area. I was thinking 1 1/2 veg?
I veg mine for at least 2 months and I use nothing smaller than 5 gallon. They will grow fine in the 3 gal, but definitely won't reach their full potential. It all depends on veg time. I'm a newbie, so I didn't know this.I have not seen anyone ask you what medium you are using. That can also affect what size pots to use. For example you can run smaller pots than usual if you run Coco.
8 would be goodHey sorry guys internet went down. But I will be using perlite and soil ratio of 6:4
With worm castings, molasses.
I was wondering how many plants would I need to fill a scrog if using all 3 gallon pots in a 4x8 area?
Aww sick that looks dope man. Cheers for the insight. I will be using 8 3 gallon pots cheers. This is a 2x4 tent with two gallon fabric pots. Two or three gallon pots are all you need. I could fit four of these size of plants in the tent. 4x8 could run six to eight three gallon pots and grow monster plants. Don't believe you need huge pots to have big, heavy producing plants. It's a waste of dirt and space.
The next crop will be in three gallon pots. Not for bud size but to help retain water. I won't have to water as much cause clean water is expensive.
