I guess those $300 packs weren’t sellingThey closed the sales on their website after the 40% Off sale.
Those were ridiculous but I never took the plunge so I can't speak for them. But he did have a lot of affordable packs that I found some killer plants from. The dosido 18 line was all great.I guess those $300 packs weren’t selling
The expedition line was all his untested gear he released after asking people if they wanted to buy untested seeds. I would argue that disclosure alone does make him better than most. All his lines are tested and seem to be worked at least somewhat. He does massive pheno hunts and only keeps the winners. That is going to cost money to do and i think it’s fair to charge more than others who aren’t going to those lengths.I agree with him though. He has some ridiculous prices. He is a pollen chucker. He does have better genetics to start with. And all he does is whine and complain and talk about himself like he is better than most. It's hard to like him as a person and the expedition line was the only line I thought was worth it
Huh ?The expedition line was all his untested gear he released after asking people if they wanted to buy untested seeds. I would argue that disclosure alone does make him better than most. I don’t think he is geared towards new growers who are popping 3 or 4 seeds at a time. He seems to be one of the people who remains truly passionate and is respected by other respected members of the scene.
I’m honestly curious who people think is doing better work than archive?
I do agree about breeding being the wrong term for what is being done in 95% of the work today but I still don’t know who has done better in previous years besides any sort of landrace genetics that took years to produce.Huh ?
If you don't get a keeper or a plant that is mostly like the mother you started with within 3-4 seeds, your not a breeder, and your seeds are not tested.
Have you seen the tests yourself ? Or you just make up fictitious data to support your notion ?
You can do massive pheno hunts and keep whatever, if you don't breed the line aka making it consistent (in the seeds you make outta those lines) to the traits you want, again you are not breeding, you are pollen chucking and counting on your name and strain names to sell your maybe and probably miss gear.
You have it all wrong, I have nothing against Archive, quite the opposite, I love him, love his gear, love his pioneering work over the years and iconic strains he was able to get to over the years
But to call him a breeder ? Boy don't make me laugh my ribs hurt
Go look up the definition of breeding, making a true breeding seed line (in short, just seeds that carry 80-90%+ like mother traits each one) takes years, and a lot of money and space.
No breeder is doing this today, name sales, not actual work.
That's the problem, like I said he does have great genetics. But his personality makes it hard for me to recommend him.The expedition line was all his untested gear he released after asking people if they wanted to buy untested seeds. I would argue that disclosure alone does make him better than most. All his lines are tested and seem to be worked at least somewhat. He does massive pheno hunts and only keeps the winners. Most notable breeder that does business this way is clearwater. As soon as people hype a strain in his discord he ups the price on said strain. 100 new strains every year and just waits for one ro become a hit. And the pricing on clones it outofthis world. He does make selections, without selections you wouldn't have elite/special phenos that we have today, but the distance between a good plant and seeds that replicate that plant is huge.
sometimes it's not, but very rare.
It's actually very simple, when ur a true breeder you do the work
When your a pollen chucker we do the work for you.
