It can be done to grow bud, but it is extremely tough. Aquaponics is perfect for leafy greens, herbs, viney vegetables, ect... Not so much for flowers, since aquaponics systems main source of nutrients are nitrites and nitrates. So when a pot plant goes to flower you don't need nearly as much N. But it has been done. Just takes some rescearch
