Aquamist 1

So after almost a month of excuses and delays growgenie ( www.growgenie.com ) finally shipped my aquamist system and it is due to be here on this coming Wed. Now I have been trolling hard and using google like a crazy person but cant find teh answers to a few questions I still have regarding this system. Im hoping that anyone who uses this system currently can chime in and help me out.

I know that the misters make this aeroponic, but i also know teh roots will eventually make it into the rez (20gal) Now I was told that i can just start teh system and leave it running no need to cycle time the misters, but what about lights off? Should I just leave the system on 24/7 including lights out time?

Would turning the pump on in cycles stop the water in my rez from being airated when it is off?

Sorry to post but most of the answers to aero questions about cycle times are for systems that teh roots will never be submerged in water. I just dont want to fuck up 32 clones in my first shot at using this unit. Thanks in advance for any answers. :eyesmoke:

pretty much the rule of thumb is to always aerate your res. Even in ebb and flow, but if the roots are going to touch then thro in a big ass airpump for kicks. They might live without the air, I bet they will, because the churning water will get aerated but with a pump your growth goes that much up.

Now for timers I got some sad news, maybe. For aero almost every person uses this 60-80 dollar cycle timer that is factory fixwd and chipped to run 1 minute on and 4 minutes or five minutes off. This is what everyon says is the best thing for aero. It really works. I tried aero and I have a cheap timer and ran 15 on and 30 off and the plant lived for the week I had its small 3 week old ass in the aero before I got bored and moved her. However this is not what is recomeded I am sure by ther aero pors here, dude. Think about it like this, the more it is off the more awesome for the roots, the more air, so the more growth. It is all about air. Air is GOD. Also I had a prob that when I ran it 24 seven the pump actually started to heat the water too hot. Just turning it off for half an hour removed this totally. The reason I let it off for half an hour was because of the small root structure and the extreme humidity in the aero bucket. Anyway, there are those that get away with anything. I have read it all.

The Pump is a 250mag drive, Im not sure if they heat up as much as regular ones.

Still looking for anyone who uses this system to LMK if they are using a cycle timer or not.

I would think on and off with teh pump over and over would kill it pretty fast.

Thanks for the reply, If need be I will grab a cycle timer monday. Just gives me another excuse to visit the hydro store

I keep rewatching the SeemoreBuds Video, but out of all the info they give on the aquamist system not one time does it mention cycle times or any of that key info. Kinda a kick in teh biscut if you ask me.

Still holding out for that one grower who uses this system to help a brotha out.

thanks :eyesmoke:

Funny, I'm waiting on a Aquamist from growgenie, and waiting. I was wondering the same thing. I think the two C.A.P. timers I found were 1 min on / 4 minutes off and 3 min. on / 5 min. off. I was thinking the 3/5 sounded like a better ratio, but that's just a guess.

Members on another site using the aquamist informed me that it would be best to just run the system 24/7 and not to bother with a cycle timer.

I already picked one up at teh hydro store so m gonna try it both ways. Guess the only way to really figure this out is trial and error. If 24/7 seems to be messing things up i will stick them on a timed cycle and see if that fix's any issues.

cant wait till WED!!!! FedEX better not let me down!:bigjoint:
