I really need help here. My plants are 15 weeks now into flowering! Strand is 50% sativa ww/ice 50% indica from good bag seed. They are healthy and buds have filled out nicely. First two grows didn't turn out right so i have never been through a successful harvest. This is my first good batch. Nutes, bio-thrive line and they are under 400 wt hps light. I have no light leaks. Hairs turned 3-4 weeks ago but tric's were 80% milky last week and now still look the same. I am seeing some leaves starting to turn a redish brownish color and other yellowed and falling off. They got a little stressed in the hottest part of the summer as i have them in the attic. It got up to 110 degrees in there some days. I had to water daily.I kept air ventilated. They made it through fine but I'm wondering if that would have slowed them down to the point they are now. I get impatient because in the vegging stage i could see the changes being made. The same with flowering stage and the budding stage. Now that they are coming to the end, I don't see any changes. What is happening in this stage? They are just sittin there lol Is there anything I can do to help with the trich's to change color? I don't have a camera yet, cant do pics yet. OMG Maybe they will never change...

Sativas are best harvested at that stage anyways. I'd harvest some now. You can wait till you get 50-50 white-amber with the rest. I bet you'll prefer the first batch.

Oh god. im growing 3 sativas and 1 indica in the same 18gal res DWC setup. I hope my sativas dont take that long!!if so sorry indica! Well, so far my sativas are 2 days away from hitting 7th week of flower, Hairs just starting to darken and recede. But the indica hairs are still fat and white. They are still on 4/5 the nutes, I plan on using reg water around week 8-9. but if all goes bad and they still puffing up, may hit 10wks plus i guess. Havnt checked trichs yet, was going to start that at week 7.

You said sativas are best at this stage to cut? I sampled a piece, it doesn't seem strong enough. Or with sativas is that something that gets better and better through curing etc? I've heard up to 16 weeks with sativas. They are 15 now. Oh from now on I'm goin with Indicas.

What i have learned about sativas is that they are more of a haed buzz with some body buzz, which would mean that you would want to take them when the trichs. are cloudy. If you wait till they turn amber you are losing what sativas are all about. Also i have read that the last two weeks of flowering sativas you should run your lights 8/16.Im runing sativas now and im going on 12 weeks and most will be done in between 1 wk. and 2.I have one thats going to go about 16 weeks.Peace

Cut a couple buds off and dry and cure them, smoke em and see how they are. Sativas are notorious for taking a long time to flower. I've never really seen any negative effects from chopping off a few tasters and letting the remainder keep growing. If the buds start loosing color or looking bad, then of course pull them. But if they still look totally healthy, leaves aren't yellowing, etc... you've probably got a while to go my friend. Hope this helps.

I let my sample nug dry for 5-6 days. I didnt cure it first though, would that have made big a difference in strength if it had been cured first?. It was weak, how, I dont know because with the strand being a quarter white widow and quarter ice, it should be stronger than what it was. The plants are still healthy, buds still have that lightgreen color to them. Hairs turned 4 weeks ago. Alot of the leaves are curling downwards and are yellowed and starting to fall off. Others leaves are turning redish brown like the pic in dankasaurusrex's pic a couple reply's ago.. OMG they smell SO good. Buds are getting more and more heavy and there are still some bud sites where there are a few new hair growths coming out. Although on other areas the hairs look like they are starting to receed. I just don't want to let them go too long or cut them too soon. Has anyone heard of sativas taking longer that 16 weeks and they turned out fine?

If you have NICE BRAND NAME STRAIN GROWING and you dont cure it.. youll have BUNK. Curing for 2weeks is a must if you really want the best out of your grow
