Ive been reading where starting a seedling in straight FFOF can burn it as its got a decent amount of nutes in it. Can i help lessen this chance by doing a 2/3 ffof and 1/3 perilite mix? Also before adding the seed, will flushing the soil a good bit help by draining out some of the nutes?

I would use the cubes and then transplant. I had to switch from FFOF because it kept purning the shit out of my plants when I would feed them LOL. Not a very forgiving soil. It works dont get me wrong but, I like simplicity, and having to check the PPM every time I get a new bag or transplant with straight water to find out how potent it already is gets annoying.

All i can say is i am using FFOF and so far it's been great. My plants are 5 weeks from seed and i've just let the soil do it's thing up until about a week ago. The only reason I even introduced nutes is because I want to be able to feed heavily during flowering so i figured that if i started now then it would help. lol idk. But seriously, I would soak your seed for 24 hours then transplant to soil. 10/11 of my seeds popped and i haven't had a problem yet. i am growing indic a dominate though. good luck. OH! almost forgot, whenever i transplanted from solo to 3 gallon (mistake, use 1 or 2 gallon) i used 2 parts FFOF 1 part FFHF. idk?

ive used ffof for both my first and second grows never had a problem with it however it can run kinda hot for the seedlings and what i found to really work for me was adding coco to the mix in my second grow mixed about 50/50 just slightly more ffof..you can check out my thread in my sig if you like it is long but may help ya lots of good people there..also i wouldnt go to a 1gal then 2 you want to transplant as little as possible you will be just fine if you move to the 2gal after the starting pot..happy growing
