anyone who has upgraded from 250 to 400 hps

as the title says, what temp difference did you notice with the rest of your grow the same, my temps are at about 70-74 in a small budbox with my window closed so i'm thinking of moving up to 400 but if its a massive difference then i can't as i don't want my room to be freezing to compensate for it

dude im using a 400w in my 6 foot closet and MUST have a fan runnin at the light all through lights on..never had a 250 but i know the 400s get hot!

In my experience, with the same ventilation, 250 = 75 in room, 78 at plant level, 400 = 78.5 in room, 83 at plant.
72 cubic feet, vortex 6" 450ish cfm. 1/3 diverted to pulling from topvent on reflector. This is not a "flow through" or "cool tube" type, and has no bottom glass.

The problem arises at plant level due to radiant heat, and this is with the 400 @ 20" while the 250 was @ 10.

Big difference IMO, between 250/400 and ensure you can deal with that extra heat. Good luck
