Anyone using the new Bluelab guardian connect?

I posted this on icmag and got just crickets in response

I've been waiting for something like this that can data log my PPM/ph/temp of my rez without getting into the whole growtronix thing. My main question is will digital ballast interference bother the data during lights on? My tri-meters go fairly bonkers and I have to do all adjustments lights out. Anyone running this scenario i'd like to hear from you.

Here I got you one:

And I doubt that it will interfere. The type of interference from them is typically radio. There's a fucken answer ya goofball

starting off snarky huh? Well anyone actually running one of these things let me know how you like the software that it runs on.

Rummy, what kind of meter are you running now, I have a Hanna and the RFI from my Solistech is wigging this thing out.
I was thinking about getting a Blue Labs also, just worried about spending the money and having the same issue.

i like magnetic ballasts because they don't have RF interference.
although i thought for a pretty penny you could buy a digital ballast that is satellite protected

I run x6 gaurdains and one of them is a connect but im only
Running it as a normal gaurdain. Theres no rfi issues with blue lab meters

Growtronix is far from the only option. For those with an interest in embedded electronics, there are guys messing with Arduino boards and sensors, and they're building complete monitoring and control systems for just a hundred bux or so. That cost includes everything like the board itself and the sensors. Some are moving on and including nutrient dosers and such as well, to automate and control their nutrients.

There is a large diy community with Arduino, and so there is an open source code library that will make it relatively easy to set up what you want. I bet that code library would even let an Arduino read your Blulab Connect's output and display it on your monitor.

I'm running nutradip tri-meters. i've always know that my meters were susceptible to RF since I bought my first digital ballasts nearly ten years ago... you know, the ones that used to blow bulbs up hahaha! Since then I switched back to mag ballasts until recently when I changed from 600's to 1k ballasts. I had been reading that RFI had been drastically improved with digital ballasts these days and I figured i'd give them a try again. I wasn't terribly supprised that my meters were still affected as I figured the claims of low RFI were exaggerated but hey, at least my bulbs are poping left and right!

Good to know! If your meters aren't affected at lights on even though you're not running the software I would assume it wouldn't be affected either. This is a good report thank you!

I'm with you on mag ballasts for sure, and they're easy to fix as well!

I downloaded the demo software after digging up my old pc that is a decade old. after a couple hours of updates and nonsense i have it up and running. It allows you to data log in 1 minute, 10 minute, 1 hour, 3 hours, 12 hours and 1 day intervals. I choose 1 minute. the demo meter displays a ppm of 1400, water temp of 71 and a ph of 7.2. I used the google drive cloud service to store the info. you can also store local on your pc. It automatically logs to a spread sheet that i was able to modify the values mentioned above to better simulate the graphing so it wasn't just flat lines.

the growlog app from grodan is pretty good as well. You have to enter everything in manually for any graphing/logging but works great as a grow journal or grow log.

Well one last update, I ran the bluelab software on a friends MacBook running windows without a hitch. It took the last little bit of mystery out of my decision to pick up these meters now that I don't have to buy pc.

Cheers

Does anyone have a list of electronic sensor options?

There is Grodan, Bluelabs, Grotronix, Agrowtek... anything else that works really well for weed? Trying to do a cost-benefit analysis.

etherdose duo monitor and dosing control data logging. sell on ebay 975 with best offer option paid either 5 or 6 comes with one set of ph/ec/temp probes and 3 dosing pumps capable to handel second set of probes as a back up to help over dose do to a bad probe or can monitor dual tanks, and up to six dosing pumps has sd card to store data logging, this little guy packs a lot in a small package, there is no interface but Ethernet port makes it remote and can connect hundreds of them to one network.
