Anyone using Botanicare (Pro Grow & Pro Bloom) ?

I've used Botanicare Pro Grow and Pro Bloom years ago and liked it a lot - although I didn't really have anything else to compare it to. I was wondering who else uses it and what concentration(s) is used throughout the grow. I read about someone that kept making higher strength during the veg stage etc, and maybe same type of thing for bloom stage - not sure. I don't have a PPM meter and may not get one, as I didn't seem to need one last time - but I wish I could remembr what I did. lol

Weird, I first did a search for Botanicare on this forum and not much came up. So I did a Google search, and found some RIU threads that were what I needed.

I used Botanicare when I first started growing. Its pretty basic and kinda over priced. I liked the ease of it though. You just use the grow during veg stage and then use the bloom during flowering... but as I learned more I learned that plants grow better when they get various levels of nutes depending on the stage of growth. Thats when I switched over to the 2-part systems where you combine the parts during the grow. I went to General Hydro and had better results, same with Advanced. Now I'm on Blue Planet Nutrients and get better results at better prices. I have some Pro Bloom left. You can have it if you pay for shipping. Its a few years old but probably still good. I have no use for it. I have almost a full gallon.

I too used it for a few years first starting out in hydro. Then for a little in soil. Then I switched to roots organic uprising (great for veg, sucks for flower). Then dr. Earth tomato & vegetable. That works great, especially for the grower on a broke budget.. Then super soil. That works good. Expensive upfront to make. Subcools recipe makes alot. Then started adjusting the same recipe. Eventually to vegan super soil. Now for almost a year I've been doing recycled living organic soil. Top dress kelp meal, neem meal, rock dust. Crab meal, compost, worm castings. With pure organics, no ppm meters, no ph-ing or anything like that.. I've had the best results with the least amount of work. . I have worm bins making my own vermicopost. Now i maybe spend $100 a year on my garden. Excluding electricity. Work 4 hours a week. Not counting trimming and chopping.

During winter month I use Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow and Bloom as a base. Keeps things simple. At different points in development I may supplement with teas using various ingredients including bat/bird guano, alfalfa, kelp, molasses. In the summer I have the opportunity to keep teas outside and take advantage of the warm weather to let it brew in the sun.

I need to learn more about teas - maybe for next spring. Do they invite more issues with pests or mold/fungus?

IMHO if your growing in a living medium (soil) botanicare has too many chelating salts, and sets back bacterial growth. No organic cert. full of salt (natural source). I used for a couple seasons, was detrimental to soil quality. I f you're hydro tell me to mind my own business. Good luck, but generally if it is premixed in a bottle, DON'T put it in your soil.
