Anyone used this light before?

Very new to led and decided to get a smaller light to take care of some of the veg plants. I probably didn’t do enough research and I’m sure I spent too much for this at 300$. With some of the light coming from cobs it might be not up to current standards. Idk. Haven’t read many reviews but the ones I have were mostly happy with 6F2774AD-F0AD-491A-A025-0D8D0860389E.jpeg8E253A00-B503-4E44-AC13-3B501EDD97FB.jpeg it. Here’s a pic. Optic 8 150 veg. It’s on the way to me and should have it within a few days

I am very new myself. I have a new TSW-2000 still in the box. Since you have the led light coming start doing some reading on using it. Learn about the spectrum well you did buy it for veg make good use of it.

Covers a 2x4 space which seems really good for me at 150 watts. I’d use over 300 watts t5 Fluorescent for same space. Guess we will see if it holds true to the claims.

Yeah, that is a lot of money, for that little light. Anyhow, if it had been me, I would have bought a 320 kit instead of that light, and for half that price. Other than that, I don't understand why they put a cob in the center of a tight array of samsung chips. Yeah, to me, it doesn't make much sense to overlap already an intense lighting array with a cob lighting array!

Yea..I’m learning a lesson before my light even arrives. Lol. Oh well..at least it’s just for a small veg area. I’m sure it will be much better than my t5 fluros and I might be impressed. I’m not ruling it out. I’ll still have some vegging under the fluros so I’ll get a good comparison. For flower room I’ll be switching from hps soon and am looking hard at the hlg scorpion 600. Checking out growers choice as well.

Those are some serious lights and serious money. If you are new to the led scene I would contact some of the veteran growers on the group for help. That is what the group is here for. Keep your money in your pocket until you are sure of what you really need, not what you think you want.

Thanks man. Yea..I need a serious light and money isn’t an issue. I need to cover a 4x4 with minimal heat. Scorpion or many of the bar style fixtures seem to be the way to go. Leaning toward hlg scorpion but checking out growers choice.

Got the light delivered today and set up. Gotta say I’m happy with it. It’s lighting up a 2x4 area better than 2 of the 220 watt t5 fixtures I had. 440 watts of t5 reduced to 150 watts led and it’s brighter in there. Also, this light puts out virtually no heat so I turned the fan off. Nice little cut in power usage for the veg closet.

Gonna order another one to finish filling out my 4x4. I’m already in 300$ on one so I might as well get another. I know I could maybe save a hundred on a different quality 150 watt but it doesn’t matter at this point. I’m just gonna go with 2 optics and see how they perform in the 4x4. Part of me wants to run these lights even more because all of the haters of the company. Some of the trash talk is probably warranted but most seems like it’s just popular lines to repeat..kind of likes guys jumping on the hate train when it comes to shitting on particular seed breeders when they have no actual clue about what any strains from the breeder are like. Anyhow the veg room needed taken care of. Failing t5 that I’ve had forever. Flower room I’ve decided will remain hps. Just going to upgrade to a better hood and ballast. In most all the pics and journals I’ve seen I’m just not seeing the same type of light penetration and quality of lower nugs on taller plants with the led. Also seems like you need to run a lot more watts than what’s recommended if you want density from top to bottom of plants and corner to corner of the room.
