Anyone use 'Turface' in their mixes?

Anyone heard of using 'turface' in their soil mixes? Back when I was looking into preparing soil for Japanese Maples there seemed to a be a crowd who liked to use this stuff. We also heard of using it for bonsai...

Couple years ago we sourced 2 large bags and have it just sitting around; In my other thread I was asking about my 1st mix but wanted to ask the broader question here of whether it has any value to a soil mix?

How heavy handed are you with it in your mix? i.e. percentage wise? just a tad or add a bunch? ;-)

I've got plenty to use up... my current mix is listed over here

Thx!

Thanks - I think I might throw a little into my mix just for the sake of diversity... and to stretch the batch a tad further!

I do 30% of my whole mix following cootz recipe. Works great in 30 gal pots. Got a little under a pound on 300 watts. I also use biochar
