Anyone use P90X?

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has had any luck with the P90X system they advertise all night long on TV. My wife got a bootleg dvd of some of the workouts and Im considering trying them out.

Ive gained a few pounds and it seems like this will do the trick fairly quickly, anyone with first hand experience?

I am getting married in Oct of this year, my best man has just completed his 8 week cycle; he's lost LOTS of fat and has leaned up well.

It's good if you are looking to lean out, not bulk up..

Right on, thats kinda what Im looking to do. Need to lean down before I try to bulk anything lol...

Is your best man planning another cycle before october?

I say go for it! I'm fairly muscular, yet I will give it a full 8 week run before my wedding/Honeymoon just to lean out more. :>

I was thinking it was a 90 day program? Do you guys just do 8 week cycles? any specific reason? Or am I confused and it was always just 8 weeks?

Sorry, I do not know the specifics of the program. I do think its actually 90 days, as you mentioned. Sorry.

He is planning on doing it again before the wedding.. I can say that for a guy that smokes 1/5 O per day; he really trimmed up.. gave him alot of energy as well.

Well I think Im going to go ahead and commit to this program, probably starting tomorrow. Id start today but I want to go out and eat some of my fav foods before I forget about them for awhile lol.

Krozone did your buddy change his diet significantly or mostly just the workouts>?

Anyone else have any experience with P90X?

yeah I did a whole cycle of p90x last year and started it up again last week. it really does cut down a lot of fat and tone you up quick; but you do gain a good amount of muscle but not huge and bulk like lifting heavy at the gym. more natural muscle though from pushups and pull ups.. but the shoulder press and bicept curls and all are dumbells

As for that 8 week thing... Its 90 days in total but the first 3 weeks is the same workout routine, its not easy trust me, then week 4 is different more rest workout routine to confused the body. Next 3 weeks is another workout routine different from the first 3. then after those its another resting week. then the last 4 weeks it changes the workout after 2 weeks. if you follow it with the specific workouts everyday how the schedule tells you to then you'll be amazed just after the first month let alone after the 3 months

I just started the program this week, after the first 3 days I couldnt move my major muscle groups well enough to maintain good form, lol. I was so sore it wasn't funny. I had to break for two days just to get over the muscle soreness. I started the program again today :D I think it works great so far, i am using the bootleg copy aswell.
