Anyone use Hortmans.com for clones/cuts/seeds?

I created this account just to reply to this form. We started testing aggressively for HLVD and set up a brand new quarantine with all proper protocols and isolation. I tested 12 of their genetics and 3 came back with HLVD. Repeating, hortman's clones some have HLVD. forwarded them the reports yesterday and are our testing protocol. They were tested at a lab that specifically tests for plant pathogens. I'm attaching information on the testing. Samples were collected and overseen by a former bio military specialist. I'm not here to bash them. This is a huge problem in our industry. It's reckless to get anything from any outside source and not quarantine and test yourself. I present this information to the community as a reminder of how important quarantining is regardless of where you get clones from. I'm curious if anyone else has tested their genetics for HLVD and have had a similar experience?

UPDATE: I figured by providing Hortmans with HLVd testing results showing some of their genetics are infected, this would be concerning to them and would want to talk more about it. But I'm pretty sure they're ignoring my emails, sadly it's been a common theme when communicating with them. Every other email is just ignored I have found. I'm not here to bash them. But ignoring this matter and not treating it with priority communicates to me says they don't care. IF they do, write me back and offer a response to the evidence I presented that shows HLVd I will update everyone with transparency.

I will definitely update everyone as soon as I hear anything. I'm not looking to trash Hortman's. I'm sure they have an explanation, and I'll be happy to share it with everyone. The truth is this happens with so many different companies online. I've ordered from the majority and have had problems randomly here and there. As a caregiver I veg plants for a very long time so I have to test everything. Investing so many months into something to then find it dudding out and making other plants possibly infected. Sucks. If you test for this viroid, Definitely use root material. It's easier to detect there as opposed to the leaf. It's possible it could be in one side of a plant and not in the other or just on one branch. But the roots should test positive if it's there. Knowledge is power

I received a very short response from them. I'm sharing that with the community. I'm glad to hear they're investigating my claims. And they're also willing to provide me with replacements. Of course I will keep everyone updated. As I've stated many times I'm not here to attack Hortmans. I'm all about community and transparency.
Good to hear but slow response

Communication with them has been incredibly slow at times, and I don't feel like I'm being heard or listen to the way every email has been responded to so far. 5 days ago they sent me the following message:

"We are no longer going to work with the nursery and the $50 clones, you are the 2nd person this week that mentioned bugs and hplvd. We wanted to provide an affordable option our customers with the $50 clones, and the nursery was adamant about testing supposedly. That doesn't seem to be the case so unfortunately, we will be removing those products from our website."

I wrote them back, I articulated that these plants are all very sick, they have bugs, it's just a really bad situation. I asked them to credit me for the 12 nasty plants, three of which had HLVD but they were all cohorted together, and I promise to that when that credit got used I would still be sending them at least $600 to $800 more. But when my second half of this order arrived in the plastic cases they ship their clones in those ones arrived real healthy and look great. I'm just waiting to test them for HLVD at this point, and of course I will share the findings with the community. Is it unreasonable for me to expect all the clones from them to be healthy?

I don't know why they won't write me back to make this right after they acknowledged an issue with the vendor, they're getting their lower cost clones from. I don't know if they're being honest, My assumption was every thing ordered on their website comes from them.

I will keep everyone updated. But as of right now I cannot suggest or encourage anyone to order from hortman's. Not until there's communication and my issues are resolved correctly and reasonably.

I WILL ALSO BE POSTING PICTURES HERE FOR THE COMMUNITY TO LOOK AT AS FAR AS EACH GENETIC I GET FROM THEM.

Update, a few days ago they reached out to me and agreed to credit me the value of the first 12 clones that were cohorted together.

I will be sure to post pictures for everyone to see. I'm really excited about growing their genetics out. fingers crossed It's the real deal! I'll probably post some videos on my YouTube channel that will be getting rebooted soon. When it does, I will certainly share links

Their customer service is slow, but they definitely did the right thing in my opinion by working with me. Customer service may have been slow since a lot of the messages were leading up to Christmas, and after Christmas before the new year. So I will definitely cut them a break and not hold that against them.

I wanted to post an update. The second batch of healthy clones I received all tested negative for HLVD. Of course it takes multiple tests to be 100% certain, they remain in my quarantine for another few weeks, I will test them again. I'm under the impression they work with a few different companies where the genetics come from. The company they had worked with that sent me several plants that had the HLVD They don't work with anymore I've been told through. As these flower out I will post pictures. And as I get more genetics from them, I will certainly keep everyone posted. But I'm very happy that the last batch was healthy.

Hello,

Do you have an email for Hortmans? I place an order on December 11 last year and my stuffcshowed the other day frozen. When I send them an email at info@hortmans, or reply to the email they sent me it comes back undeliverable. Thanks in advance for your help.

Remove the extra @@@ I just don't want them to get spammed..

Sometimes it takes several days to hear back from them, but that email has worked well for me.

Thank you! I will give it a try.
Did you ever hear back from them? I'm getting real frustrated, I had ordered a bunch of clones a little over a month ago and they wear agreeing to give me credit for all the ones that had we're part of the HLVD issue. But I've only received about 25% of that order, and I've been trying to get a hold of them for over a week to find out the ETA on the balance. They will not respond. I am so frustrated All I want was communication. Even if they told me it would be another few weeks that's fine, but not knowing anything and having over a month go by is disturbing and incredibly concerning! Does anybody have a phone number for them? I just hope this is one big misunderstanding. But without any communication what conclusions can I make after a month goes by?

I have not heard back from the email that I sent, but my partner heard back from them on instagram and they are taking care of our problem. You’re right, there communication has a lot to be desired. I’ll update when we receive our stuff.
