Plant Success Great White Mycorrhizae

Great White is the most advanced mycorrhizal product on the market today. The combination of mycorrhizae, beneficial bacteria, trichoderma, and plant vitamins will give your plants a strong and developed root system. This will enable your plants to break down and absorb nutrients efficiently and effectively. Also it will increase water uptake and the overall absorption area of the root system, resulting in a healthier plant. Can be used in hydroponics as well as soil. May also be injected in to media.

anyone use this product for flushing???

final flush vefore harvest???

anyone use this at ALL??

Uhm... use it for flushing? How/why would you do that? Perhaps you need to further investigate how its properly used.

I use it; especially from seed(ling) through early/mid flower. Used some on my lawn too (serious drought around here). I haven't done any serious comparison's but I believe it makes a noticeable difference. I grow pretty much all Hydro, but I do notice more white mycelium on my roots and it seems to help maximize the health/speed. Overall I'd give it a thumbs up... but keep in mind it's no miracle ingredient. You still have to do everything else right. BTW, it takes a while for the stuff to get established and colonize your medium. So it's kinda pointless to use towards the ends of a cycle.

sorry. i was told by my local hydroponics store that it can also be used as a flushing agent. it was just a question if anyone has used it this way. I have done my research and know what it is normaly used for! thanks or your response...

Sorry didn't mean that to sound condescending (which it did after I read it). Beneficial fungii attaches to your roots and the spreads out through the medium which basically increases the effective size of the rootmass; all the while, the roots exude fungii food & the fungii make food for the roots in a nice little subterranean symbiosis.

Given this mode of operation, I'm not sure how one could utilize "beneficials" for flushing. The main thing that makes me think it wouldn't be useful for flushing is the fact that the product is essentially just a bunch of spores in a carrier powder; prior to being hydrated and given the allotted time required for colonization.

The only thing I could possibly think of is that Great White does have some bacteria in addition to the fungi spores. While seemingly unlikely, maybe the bacteria somehow consume the excess mineral salts that are leftover in the media. Although I was under the impression that high concentrations of mineral salts will inhibit growth and possibly cause death to beneficials.

Personally if it were me, I would stick to seedling/veg/early flower use and for flushing I would go with distilled water. In my opinion distilled water is the ultimate in flushing substances. Because it is void of virtually all mineral salts, it will aggressively absorbe anything it can from your soil. Much like how heavy distilled water consumption can cause nutrient deficiencies in humans; it is a fantastic method of sucking up every out of your soil. If you want to do it properly, check the EC/PPM of the runoff water (there will be a huge increase vs. the distilled). Once the quantity of stuff the distilled h20 is absorbing starts to level off then you should be good to stop flushing & replace the needed nutes.

well I think the idea is that when flushing with it it allows you to rid salts and make sure you restablish Beneficial fungii that might be washed away while flushing with straight Phd water..

maybe??

I use it. They are saying to use after you flush to re establish, after being washed away. They dont do anything for flushing. Just like applying the soak for the first time basically. Although white widow, or a product of similar name, is more potent apparently. Double the cost too. Its made by humboldt nutrients, i think.

Awesome explanation! That was a better breakdown than the description on the Plant Success site. I've been reading very good things about this product and for the high price it better be good. I plan on using this during my first grow. I'm hoping to maximize my use of GH's Floralicious Plus and Botanicare's Sweet. My nute line will be a very simple one from Dyna-Gro (Grow/ Bloom/ Mag-Pro/ Pro-Tekt). For finishing I will possibly use Koolbloom dry.

From what was recommended, the Great White will help maximize the Sweet and Floricious + additives.

That's funny you say that. I think you're salesman was trying to just make you use up the stuff and come back. A flushing agent seems ridiculous. It's supposed to build mycorrhizal fungi which takes time and... Yeah that was a scam. That was only 6years ago!!

Anyone using this today? It does have much more fungi and bacteria than any other brand. But is it worth it?

I'm not sold on great white, merely for the fact that it also contains trichoderma which feed on fungi. Trichoderma is much easier and cheaper to come by whereas the mychorriza are less easy and more expensive. I would think there would be more trichoderma in the great white which kind of counteracts what it is supposed to be used for. I don't doubt that the product is beneficial, trichoderma can be useful in helping the plants take up nutrients however, if you are specifically looking for endomychorrizal fungi, the trichoderma would eat most before it establishes.

Interesting... Oh yeah I Definitely agree great white is a Joke! Just get MendoGrow Mycos cheapest with Endo and Ecto varieties in one. Yeah I thought great white was going to be a Pure White powder But it was Just like any other myco powder, dark brown grey.
