Anyone try those mini rock wool cubes as a flo n gro meadia?

I'm setting up a flo n gro bucket system and in the past have always used hydroton as my media with good results but dang that stuff requires lots of work. Just wondering all of your thoughts on using this product? I can only find example photos of this being used but no info on results. Would make life so much easier if this stuff works good. They say it won't hold as much water as the big cubes which is a good thing and I could imagine the root mass could in theory have more area to grow because it can grow through the material and not around it as with Hydroton. Even if you have not used this I would like to hear your thoughts.

Use hydroton. It's the best medium for a bucket system in my opinion. Ive reused my hydroton for 3-4 years now with no issue. It only takes a few hours for me to clean 10 bags of the stuff with the roots on it.

Break down the root ball. Build a tray with small wire netting so the hydroton can't fall through. Dump the hydroton on the screen after you get the big roots off of it. Blast the hydroton with a pressure washer to remove all the fine root hairs. Soak the hydroton in 35% h202 to oxidize any left over root hairs and you're good to go. A bag of hydroton here is like 35$ Each so I'm saving 350$~ each run.

I only use rockwool to keep moms. That stuff in a ebb and grow bucket system is so easy to over water it's not funny.
