Anyone Still Using The Moonshine Man Mix?

I was looking for a water only soil and came across the Moonshine Man mix. Was curious if anyone was still using this mix and to what success? I just transplanted a few LSD into this mix and I'm anxious to see the finished product. Ive heard nothing but great reviews on this mix but most reviews were a few years old. Thanks in advance!

Cool man. I was reading up on subs mix but the cooking part turned me off. I was more or less looking for a mix n go.. I'm still tempted to take a crack @ subs mix though.

They ALL pretty much require some 'cooking' time.At least fresh mixes do. Gotta give those microbes time to populate and start breaking down the organic stuff you've added.

The only 'sorta' mix n go I've seen is the 3LB's recipe for recycled soil and that old soil should have a pretty good micro herd already living in it. Might be dormant, but it's there.

You will more than likely still need to give some feedings towards the middle of flower. It is a very good mix to start with if you plan to recycle your soil.

Are you using water only?

Well the mix does require 3 transplants. And yes a top feeding around day 30 of flower. But it does not require anything else. Maybe a shot of fish mix.. But the mix itself along with the required transplants and a dash of fruit n flower will take u to harvest with water only.

Yes....your transplants are key to this.I tried with not transplanting but had issues.

If you can bubble up some EWC and molasses things work well.It is a decent mix but could use a bit of sup feeding for better results.

That's not a bad mix.
Yeah man so far my LSD plants are loving the mix. They are really taking off. I may throw a foliar feeding into the schedule and see how they respond. And also thinking a splash of POM tomato and veg around day 30 of flower to beef things up a little. To my knowledge this mix was designed to produce the best smelling and tasting mj. More or less for the personal grower. And as far as cooking I haven't had to cook this mix at all.. Though I wouldnt start seedlings or clones into the mix but you can also make 2 separate batches if u like. I start all seedlings in a 50/50 mix of LW and OF. I have also decided to do a side by side run with subs soil. It should be a fun experiment. I've got a order of beans on the way so when they get here I'll find a nice mother and get a few clones for the experiment.

Thought I,d through my 2cents in here . ANY hot or organic type soil mix does require a cook time for "optimal results" Google up on organic soil mixes and you'll learn why . Now given that you'll notice I quoted optimal meaning you dont have to but it wont be all it can be . Cooking the soil ,and this doesnt nessesarly mean it has to be in the sun , means that elements in the soil are being broken down by myco and other micro life in the soil this process makes nutrient uptake more readily availible and at a broader ph spectrum . It simply something you have to do , google composting and you will also learn this process and the temps required and the heat it generates . Hint hint . PEace !

Because of my limited space, I have to start my cuts in cups and let them go for a few weeks in Happy Frog. I then take the best ones and transplant them into gallon pots also using Happy frog. Those then veg for about a month. I made the batch of "Moonshine Man Mix" last week and transplanted them. I grow in nursery 3 gallon pots. What I did this time is fill my pots a little less than half way. I then sprinkled some Great White on the soil and set my girls on top and cover the sides with the mix. As far as the mix goes, I added (1 Bag of each) Light Warrior, Original Planting Mix and Ocean Forrest. To that I added Half a bag of Pahroc Giant Exxxpanded giant perlite (2 cu. ft.) Also Fox Farm's Happy Frog "Fruit and Flower" 5-8-4 at 1 cup per mix. Mixed the shit out of it while enjoying a few frosty ones. This will be the first time I've used this mix. Week one in flower, I'll keep ya posted.

Cool man! My method is almost the same. I start in light warrior for 2 weeks, then transplant to one gallon pots of ocean forest for 4 weeks. Then str8 to the mix in 4 gallon pots. 30 days into flower I'll top feed some fruit and flower . I may also add some molasses in the last few weeks before flush. Other than that str8 h2o man!

I can't resist throwing in a few teas here and there. I actually like making them. I use to brew my own beer and now teas are a new hobby. But yeah, for the most part, straight H20. Good luck to you. I'll throw a shot up of a few girls later.
