I'm thinking on buying a Solis Tek Matrix. Does anyone have any input on this ballast/brand or products. I have plants on growing/graduating to a 12 light room and from what I have read so far, Solis Tek Matrix is the best. They also have spliters so I can run 2 of the same or 2 different 600w lamps on one 1000w ballast. Comes w/remote so I can program all 6 ballasts at once.
Here's the manufactures site. http://solis-tek.com/digital-ballasts/matrix-1000-digital-ballast.html

This is for the splitter. http://solis-tek.com/products/digital-splitter.html

Also I am looking into a Hortilux Dual Arc MH/HPS Bulb 1000 Watt Blue Super. But Im not sure if it's going to be compatable with a digital ballast.
Here's the web- http://www.eyehortilux.com/products/High-Pressure-Sodium#sblue
this bulb also a dual arc, but from plantmax

Tiki,

I bought in to the Solis Tek for the reasons you mentioned. I picked this stuff up earlier today. Can't wait.

Overall the ballast seems nice with the exception of the on board controls. They are a 'push' button type control. Like a microwave oven control with a cheap feel. As long as the remote holds, everything should be good.

As for the Dual Arc bulbs, I never bought into the hype. Wouldn't a dual-arc mimic the mid point of summer spectrum, instead of harvest fall? If I'm spending watts, I'm buying the best part of the spectrum for my use, Autumn.

The setup you described in your original post is about as good as your gonna get for grow lights. The matrix does ALOT of things every other grow light doesnt- it can switch from 1000 watts to 600 or 400, has a built in odometer to keep track of how many hours you used the light, built in timer to program lights w/ remote. By far the best lamp for the money and its even better when used with a horti bulb.
