Anyone not use GH PH Down and still succeed?

Come one people, arguing over nutes is one thing, But PH up/dwn ??? really??

i have found my system grows well without ph adjustments, or measurements
i do , if i have any, put some acid in from time to time, not sure why i bother at all, just habit i guess
its almost week 7 in flower,
i have added nitric acid 5ml, twice in 7 weeks
i would rather use phosphoric acid as its less dangerous and stronger at lowering ph, would only need 3ml lol, but i ran out of that
