Anyone Make Good Shatter?

Hey concentrates community!

Going to be trimming up my plants soon, so Im looking for a good shatter recipe.

Ive made it in the past by heating my Pyrex pan in the oven at 125-150deg f.
And running butane through the trim/buds, directly onto the hot pan, turning the extract glassy on impact.

Anyone have a better method?

Thanks bongsmilie

If your blasting head stash only, i recommend using colibri brand butane, or a similar brand. Most otc butane is cheap, not filtered of impurities, and will ruin your batch. The cheapest i buy is vector quintuple plus filtered. A rule of thumb is; if its made in korea its probably garbage. They dont have the stringent gov't standards of regulation that we enjoy here and often label a product as 5 x's filtered or 7x's filtered and youll be lucky if its been filtered twice. Its completely legal to them, there arent any import regulations on purity or false advertising. The better the 'tane the easier to purge as well as the fact that the gas is a solvent that dissolves the trichome heads as well as other essential elements of the plant, i.e. Terpenes, waxes and oils, cannabinoids, etc... These are all essential to making a pure, CLEAN, and safe final product. You want to use good clean butane and either super sugar shake trim or take the small nugs you have left over that arent worth the eyestrain or effort of trying to trim and mix them. Leazve your trim/nug mixture in a paperbag, you need to follow this step as your first step in the BHO process. This allows your trim to become crispy and easier to break the essentials from the plant matter and be washed out with the 'tane and into your warm catch plate. I use an electric griddle to control the temp of my water. I use a 9x13 metal cake pan to transfer heat to my pyrex blast pan. I cut to fit parchment paper for the inside of the blast pan, you can blast rite onto the paper in the pan and it eliminates the mess, the cleanup, and mitigates the loss from the pan that you no longer have to scrape. As an added bonus to lining the pan you can take the parchment paper and cut it down to fit into your vacuum jar. Do not use wax paper because you can adulterate your finished product with wax from scraping and heat. If you can find a roll of teflon paper get it. Earl will not stick to teflon at all!!!

Obviously thats an incomplete method but i dont have the time to type the whole process right now. If you would like further info including the vac sealer i use modified with the food saver mason jar lid vac attachment, brands of 'tane I prefer to use. I will answer questions and provide pics of everything and share my tested, tried and true blast master secrets. I yield between 1.5 to 2.25 oz's per batch. I use 10-12 cans of butane per round. I have 2 glass extraction tubes that hold approximately 100-175 grams of medium ground nuggety trim. My yield is phenominal, my quality is out of this world shatter, and my overhead for gas and materials is as minimal as i can make it. My goal is to pass along my hard earned knowledge gained thru trial and error experience. Hopefully i can gain more knowledge by passing mine along. I am also trying to advance the market for earl so that i can look for and find it anywhere in the U.S.A. Please contact me at my burner email address for further assistance. These threads just take too long to compile all this info i have gained. [email protected]
I can be reached at that address and will reply asap. Please put shatter in the subject line or else i may not even look at the email and will trash it... Thanks for looking and hopefully y

Post some pics Blast master! Ive never seen a 2oz batch before.
I usually run one can of 5xbutane through 1-1.5oz of trim/shwap-buds for a return of 3-5grams.
Im only going to be running a few small batches,

Will a simple 30$ hand-pump vac be enough to purge 10-15grams?
and
What number micron screen do you have in your extractor tube?
..ive been using 45microns but getting alot of hashy build up on the screen and tube itself.

Hey how do you get the shatter consistency? I didn't see that in there.

If you want shatter, you have to retain the oil in its carboxylic acid state, which is easier in very thin films and under vacuum. Here is a 90 gram plus run that has been purged and decarboxylated at 250F, vis a vis a thin film run using 115F under vacuum. The ligher colored thin film extraction is shatter, while the 90 gram decarboxylated oil will slump if left on its side very long.

That 94.5 grams has an interesting story! We extracted it from donated organicly grown outdoor trim from Southern Oregon, for a final stage Hep C patient, who was given less than 90 days and sent home to put his affairs in order. He showed significant improvement after consuming the 94 grams, and after consuming another 210 grams of mixed oil, that we extracted from material he grew, the original donor, and our own material, he started extracting his own material.

After about two years, his last checkup showed normal liver function.

Great story! I had Hep C, and took the medical cure horror and ate a bunch of oil too.

Bad juju, Hep C death from a de-compensated liver.

Yup, thin film purge at 100 degrees for about 48 hours is how I do mine, tests clean every time ;)
