anyone know of a watering guide?

Anyone know of a watering guide on here? I been looking for a while now but cant find it.

what im looking for is a full watering schedule from right after germination, to the last week before harvest. So basically the whole thing lol.

If no guide is known , can someone post their own sched in a quick format. Eg:
Sprouting - 1oz( or whatever unit of measurement your usin) solution every 24hr
veg 1week- 2oz solution/12hrs
etc..

I was looking at some journals and some have the info for the beginning and then forgets to post frequency or amount given toward the end of journal so I figured I would come here and ask.

Thank you in advance for any info given.

i don't think you can really set any kind of "guide". way to many variables.

water when they start to wilt.

i've been growing for a few years now and never once used a watering schedule. i simply water the plant until water begins to drip, not pour, out of the drainage holes in container. the plant is ready for more water when the top of soil is dry, and when you put your finger in soil and push down 1-1 1/2 " and it's still dry. if it's still moist that far down, wait to water. using that method of watering your plant no matter what size, is nearly foolproof. good luck....

See and thats what i thoought too but i been using the finger-soil method and i watered my sprouts this morning and in like 30 mins when i went to check on em they were laying on the dirt. So i figured i overwatered em. Because up to this morn they were looking pretty strong (for sprouts anyway). I would post pics but my digi is broke and i already tied em to bamboo stakes to try and get em facing the light.

This is why im concerned b/c i have never had the finger method fail. So either it didnt fail and Im missing some other problem or I overwatered and have to find a different method for checking dryness.

How often did you water your sprouts?

your not pouring water onto the plants themselves are you?! water the soil only. no misting the plant either. if your dealing with seedlings, you should be using ONLY water with a ph no higher than 6.5. no nutes at all- wait one month after plant sprouts to begin nutes. when you do water, put container over a sink or something so you can see as soon as water begins to drip out. that's your clue to stop watering. water slowly also. dont drown the plant all at once. let soil absorb water, wait a bit to see if it's gonna drip out of the bottom, and if not, give it a little more water. everything is done in moderation. too much of any element is bad for the garden. the length of time between waterings will also vary depending on your container size.... the soil finger test method works, thats what i use on any size plant. what size are your plants and what size containers do you have them in?

I use the same method as ijustgrowGreen method

Wait until the top layer of soil is really parched.

Does your container have good drainage, and is it breathing through the top and the bottom (holes)? Roots need plenty oxygen, and suffocation can appear as over-watering.

I was usin a sprayer but was using the stream setting, still though, i almost always got the leaves wet. So thats goin on the todo list.

My plants (3) were only sprouts, maybe an inch or two tall. But I was using 10-15-10 in their water so adding that to the list also.

I had them in jiffy pots so i can just plant the whole thing instead of transplanting. Also they have a hole in the bottom so drainage is ok.

My only question left is how often did you water your sprouts?

This is all great info for me so thank you all very much.

if you get water on the leaves, you will burn them. droplets of water act as a magnifying glass, thus intensifying your lighting and burning the leaves. no water on the leaves at all. to water, just use a cup of water, not a mister sprayer hydro jet contraption, lol. and stop the nutes. they are far too young for nutes of any kind. wait 1 month, then 1/4 strength nutes. you water any plant when the top 1-2" of soil is dry. there is no schedule. seedlings are sensitive. you must be gentile with them in all respects. thus, no supersprayer hose, no nutes, just lots of light. make sure your using water with a ph level no higher than 6.5. try that for a while and see if they turn around. good luck....and get pics up as soon as you can
