if you dont have time to build ur own i doubt u will have the time needed to actually work it. there are soooooo many different ways to go when purchasing, although i have always built my own.

look into the apollo aeroponic machines. Its a super nice machine and really easy to use. Just get a nice clone machine to go with it and you will be rocking in no time. I realize a person can make their own aero set up. However, not everyone shares the same budget and some are just tired of making their own stuff. At a certain point in life sometimes its just easier to buy something that works instead of trying to re-invent the wheel. I dont fault guys for being a diy'er. I use to be that guy also. But for those looking to spend money on some nice gear there are some choices. Do some homework on the apollo machines and see if it might work for you. Tree king did alot of homework before he purchased an aero machine and he went with the apollo in the end. Its in one of the threads on here. I have the apollo 2 and i love it. And several of my buddies have the apollo 3 also. The roots dont hang in water at all. They are totally suspended in the air. There's no medium either. Just neoprene collars and net pots. There may be other totally aero units, im not positive. Wonka

There isn't one. I was planning on starting an indoor commercial herb growing operation and after much due diligence, realized there were no off the shelf commercial Aeroponic systems available, at least not ones that seemed worth the money. The only products out there are really aimed at the hobby market and are not built to be of much use in a commercial setting.

There are some Companies such as Aerofarms that make systems, but they are far too expensive and not even worth it.

So.. since there seemed to be no Companies making true commercial Aeroponic equipment, I decided to use the money I had saved to start my growing operation and have put it towards developing an affordable commercial Aeroponic system.

We are still in the early stages of prototyping and R&D. We are at least 6-8 months away from releasing anything yet. The system we are building will provide 64 square feet of growing space in a 40 s/f space.

any pictures or updates on this system? i'm very interested. I'm a noob, but have been reading over the forums for a few weeks now and am starting to learn the basics. This is probably a dumb question, but what exactly is the difference between aeroponics and hydroponics? ARe the roots just suspended in the air in aeroponics while they're rest in water in hydroponics? Kind of confused!

Yes the roots are pretty much suspended in air. I'll probably start a thread on it once everything is together. Right now there is still some tooling going on and design changes. The system I'm developing though really is for large operations of say 3,000 s/f or more. I don't think the system would be economical for someone wanting just one unit. It's designed to be modular, connected to a manifold system and drain to waste.
