anyone here tried cbd dog treats to treat anxiety in their furry ones?

I know this is a bit old but we have a dog that gets really anxious at times and hates car rides.

Cbd works on our dog. Might not work on all dogs. The cbd calms him down and will even put him to sleep if too much is used.

Catnip can be a sedative for both cats and dogs. For it to sedate, it must be ingested. It's recommended to put some leaves in the dog's water.

Until they were removed by laws and regulations, CBD treats for pets outsold any other edible.

When I asked pet parents about them, they all raved stating- nothing works better.

How is everyone measuring the cbd out for dogs when in eye dropper form? And how much per 10lb would you reccomend for inflammation in knees and hips on an old german shep.

they just change the word hemp to cbd, hemp products have been around since the dinosaurs, now they call it cbd

Doses are by weight for 24 hours (I divide my dog's in 2 for 12 hour dosing):
Maximum 24 hour dosage without vet supervision is roughly 1.8 mg/lb

For my seniors I buy this:
https://www.thecbdistillery.com/product/99-cbd-isolate-powder-from-hemp/

I mix it 1 gram/240 ml (8 oz) which equates to roughly 4.2 mg/ml

I figured my dog's weight at 11 lb. Therefore the daily recommended max is 20 mg.

I give them 1 cc every 12 hours for a total of 8.4 mg/24 hours. Which is a moderate strength dose.

Say your shepherd weighs 60 lb, 60lb x 1.8 mg/lb mx = 108 mg max per 24 hours. I'd start him very low at 2 cc twice/day of my 4.2 mg/ml mix which is only 16.8 mg/day and see how he tolerates it. As you move up in dose double the concentration of your oil so instead of dissolving 1 gram/8oz oil dissolve 2grams/8oz oil which equates to 8.4 mg/ml etc... Then it's just do the math.

Give your dog the least amount they can tolerate. BTW this was enough oil to stop my girl from having seizures and I was able to taper her Keppra. So it's anti-inflammatory response is great even at relatively lower doses which is where I'd try to stay.

.. was just curious to hear if anyone here has tried any of these treats for the pets as 4th of july is quickly approaching, and sandy pants absolutely freaks out over the fireworks.. was talking to a lady at work, and she said she uses cbd treats to help with her dog, but she's a bit of an odd ball and don't really trust her opinion to say the least, so here i am, to ask you fine people..
