And if you get a pic of someone ripping your plants, what next, try to find them and what? The only purpose I can see for a trail camera is if something is eating or rooting in your "garden", then you could get a better idea of how to deal with it.

i don't understand why anyone puts cameras out, what is the purpose?
I imagine if someone found your plants during veg with the intention of coming back to grab buds later you would know and either harvest early or move them if they were in pots.

They also make trail cams that send pictures via real time to your smartphone. (Expensive) Would be pretty handy if you got an alert on your phone, checked out the pic and saw a bunch of cops raiding your grow. Least you'd know not to come back =P

I've considered using trail cams just to see if anyone has stumbled upon my plants. If that were the case, I would abandoned that plot. Not to do harm to anyone.. more for peace of mind.

One reason is to monitor the traffic near your plants, whether its people or animals. I know of people setting up cams in new spots they plan to grow a year ahead of time just to see the traffic you are going to be dealing with. For example if there is a heavy deer presence, you would want to move if possible, not for the fact that deer will come across your plants, but for the fact a hunter will when fall comes.

if you can't tell if someones been there you should really think if you should be doin this, imo.
Okay Sherlock, you're willing to tell me that if someone walked through your grow site you would be able to tell automatically? Do you have some kind of weed growing 6th sense or do you prefer to talk to the trees to get your info...

This probably doesn't apply to you, since you're such a guerrilla guru and all.. But no matter how hard you try you're going to make a small trail during the season, it just happens. To get a good harvest you need to tend your grow (watering/feeding/topping/staking and what have you) so what if someone walks where you've been walking? You're not going to notice and that's where a trail cam might come in handy.

you are correct about the trail being left, that is my point! you try not to make 1 and still leave it, others just trample on through.....why don't you try n learn something instead of trying to demean me. i personally think a camera is just another clue that there's a grow going on, most would walk right by it but a guy/girl looking for a grow has a good chance of finding it. here's to a good crop this season bro!

Didn't mean to offend. Best of luck to you this season.

That's nuts, dude... That trail cam most likely saved you some trouble. I've heard stories of LEO's staking out grows with trail cams waiting to catch the grower in action. Always have to be observant...

Stay safe out there, guys.
