I ordered a HTG Supply HPS light system,and it arrievd today!Excellent packaging..everything works..hwever I have some questions....how long does it take for HPS bulb to get to its BRIGHTEST peak?5 mintues or more?
anyone have problems with htg/digital greenhouse ballast? post here

HTG is a great online retailer. My 400W from htg has been going strong for almost a year straight.
Here is an example of what they did for me: They tape the caps shut on nutrient bottles and on one of my bottles the tape covered and made the instructions unreadable. HTG sent me a new bottle!! I told tony all i need is the dosage, he said dont worry, i'll send you a new bottle. Now thats customer service!!!!

Yes they are one of the BEST mail order hydro stores....they even have 2 BIG retail stores....who has ever used AGROMAX 400 HPS bulbs?Ae they good quality?

I have 3 DigitalGreenhouse ballasts and they work perfectly. (600 watt) Sometimes there might be a problem with the Growbright bulbs, but if there is, HTG will replace them immediately. The ballasts run absolutely cool.

I can not believe I stumbled upon this tonight. This very morning, I checked on my girls and they had no light. I am right in the middle of flowering so I called HTG this morning. My 600w digital ballast took a major shit last night. They are sending me one by fed ex two day shipping. It has only been running since the end of September. Fortunately, I had my CFL's so I will have them running for the next two days. They are awesome at HTG in my opinion. Shit happens, they obviously got a shitty batch of ballasts. I think their service is great, I will be buying CFL's from them in the near future, I like those better than my 600w..my opinion so no flaming please...I like them for all sorts of reasons, so anyone wanting to buy my new ballast that is coming, message me.I

your seriously gonna uses cfls instead of a 600w hps to flower ? and switch in the middle of flowering ?
Sorry I forgot to update this thread, any ways htg customer service is steller but the products they sell suck period! I had to wait 2 weeks for a replacement ballast and was told I would have it in less than a week, no biggie they were waiting on some to come in and when they did tony overnighted it to me... I get the ballast fire everything up and all is good for 3 days then the hps bulb took a shit
I did not want another "growbright" bulb so I just went out and bought a quality eye hortilux bulb and have had zero problems as of yet "crosses fingers".

Just got a 400w digital setup from HTG Supply and right out of the box the ballast is noisy, (high pitched buzzing/humming and loud fan) and the reflector had a few dents/dings upon arrival, (probably from shipping). I e-mailed them today and will be calling tomorrow.

Are you sure you ordered a digital ballast ? The noise you are describing is normal for magnetic ballasts. Maybe they sent you the wrong ballast.
Did you let it run any ?
Does it work ? will it light the bulb ?
If it is a poorly designed ballast it could make a high pitched squeal since the digital ballast works about the same as the switching power supply in your computer. They can squeal if they are broke or they may squeal because they don't have enough of a load on the line.
Make sure you had it all plugged in the way it was supposed to. If you just plugged in the ballast and not the lamp then it could squeal.
Just some ideas I thought I'd throw out.

HTG lights are good quality for the money..I bought two 400w hps..they both came very fast,shipped the next day with UPS..Im not gonna lie..you SHOULD upgrade the bulb to a AGROMAX for only $20 more..thats what I did..and when my grobright busted..they sent me a new 400w agromax absolutrly free...they have very good customer service..and I reccomened buying all your hydro supplies right there..Iv also bought a bottle of A.N Final Flush from them..and 2 mechanical light timers..both came very fast..

I have had a total of 3 400W Digital Greenhouse ballasts so far. They all make the "buzzing" noise. No it isn't the fan, you can hear that too, but it isn't as bad as the droning buzz that it makes. I won't really flame HTG, they started out with superior service, but as the issue progressed, they lost most, if not all of the steam to fix the issue. So I've decided to live with the buzz. The issue has been going on over a month now, and quite frankly I've run out of steam trying to deal with it.

I personally do not believe in digital ballasts..sure they run quiet..but its not like normal ballast are that louad..you can barely hear them! There is a very LOW buzzing..which you cannot hear unless you really put your mind to it..normal ballasts last longer than so called digital..thats just my opinion...
