You apparently havent grown c99, if you had you would know its one of the best strains you can get, its the original pineapple.

Most strains are created, then named. Pineapple express was a name, then they created a strain around it, not saying its not good.Move along now little kid, it's time for you to go to school.
And how are strains made ?
Would it have anything to do with someone just attaching a name to something for identification purposes ?

OK, by some of the "logic" I have seen here you shouldnt name a strain if the name has been used before and then the strain is developed.
Trainwreck, nope been having train wrecks for years.
Deisel, nope trucks have been using deisel for a long time.
White Widow, nope white women have been outliving their husbands for years.
Blueberry, bubblegum, northern lights, all nope been used before the strain was developed. Etc................................
Damn, maybe we should just call it all dope.

Well that's completely different those were named because one hit like a trainwreck, taste like diesel, bubblegum, frosty for white widow. Pineapple express was a made up name for a fake weed for a movie, then somebody said that fake strain is popular so let's call a strain pineapple express because people will buy it based on the movie. I'm not saying it isn't good.

Does Pineapple Express taste like pineapple? Then what is the dif between that and deisel or bubblegum? What about Trainwreck? Couldnt it as easily been named Sledge Hammer and be just as descriptive? As for White Widow being named because it is frosty? Where does the widow come from? Wouldnt Frosty the Snow Bitch been just as good? All I am saying is that all the names are made up. A lot of it is nothing more than a marketing tool to sell seeds. I have a strain going that ended up being called Bluebell. I call it #10 because it was my 10th cross. It is neither blue nor does it have bells, bottom line was some guy(not me) thought that Bluebell would sell better than #10, and it stuck.

I wish it did taste like ice cream. The name would sure make more sense. Its kind of a sweet berry/fruit taste. I dont know what the parents were. I bought a cheap variety pack of seeds when I switched to hydro. I figured if I killed them all, I was only out about 40 bucks. I kept two going in all. The other is #3. Lot of imagination there huh? But like yousaid as long as it is good I dont care what it is called. Where do you get the c99 seeds? I would like to try it to compare. From what I have read if you smoke too much c99, it feels like the top of your head it going to come off. Heavy duty sativa by all descriptions I have read. Do Grimm Bros. still produce them, or is it mostly other breeders keeping the strain going? I would like to try the original.

Brothers Grimm no longer sells seeds, but there are a couple breeders that have been working with it and have it as close as it gets. Yes a heavy duty sativa that finishes in 52 days. Pineapple, grapefruit, and punch phenos.

Heres the ones by mosca negra, supposed to be very good also, he has a c99 F1, a c99 bx(which should just be the pineapple) and he recently acquired some packs of original c99 from BG and is working on them now. The f1 is the only available right now, he just had some bx1 up there but i guess their out.

Actually train wreck was named for the way it looks, has nothing to do with the potency. Is called trainwreck b/c it looks like one, a spindly weak plant that needs support from birth usually.
Potency it's more like a one bicycle accident. Pineapple express has pineapple and diesel pheno''s......so at least it lives up to it's name, unlike many other's.
The original pineapple is also not C99, Flying Dutchman have always had the pineapple......from the get go. Pineapple Punch was around long before C99 was even thought about. C99 was mediocre at best, that's why it's not all over the place, and not a chance in hell it finished in 52 days......what with co2, grown hydro and picked early.....I guess you could call it 52 then.

Ive also read that its called trainwreck because of a trainwreck that happened in the area and memorialized it. And most people know it for its potency. Im not sure which came first but there are a lot more people craving c99 over pineapple punch. you also say trainwreck and c99 arent potent and then brag about pineapple express, so its kinda hard to take you serious and if you want go find some smoke reports or grow journals about c99 50-60 days for most people, how long does punch take? Thats what makes c99 so special, sativa head high in under 60 days. They arent all over the place because brothers grimm doesnt sell seeds anymore, thats why there a multiple breeders working with it now just trying to get the original and not cross it with anything.

Yes i have had experiences with white berry. Wasn't too happy with the results, they were definitely my least favourite of the crop. average potency, average to nice taste. I wont be doing anymore white berry, but i hope it goes better for you guys.
I also have pineapple express seeds, not done anything with them yet but will be doing soon. Lets hope it isn't all just HYPE.
I did some Pure Power Plant a few year ago and that was REALLY pineapple tasting!!! I hope i can say the same about the express!!

I have tried that PE, the taste is nice, the smell is awesome, I love to smell my fingers after i brake it, i could smell some diesel fragrance in the depths hehehe lovely ..... full of crystals, and the high is very uplifting, energetic, sativa kind. Perfect for wake n Bake. My opinion.

Hey all curious growers, I am in week 3 flower, vegged the Pine Ex for 5 weeks, she stretched from 2 ft to 4 ft, budding everywhere!
She is the strongest grower all the way through the cycle, I saw others sayin' watch the smell! It reeks to all high heaven, with a potent diesel smell that I have never smelled before.
I am growing her under a 1000 watter, with an La Woman, an NYCD and 2 Snowryders, and am posting to emphasize the over powering stank!!
I grew OG Kush 18 last run, and that smell was potent, but not at all like the PEx which smells like a cross between soured milk and diesel fuel! I will do harvest reports, along with smoke reports as well! Gentlemen, start your carbon filters! pro

Umm did you read the warning on that poison block you have hanging in the middle of your plant?? I had one of those and read the warning, I threw it out after it made me and my cats and girlfriend all sick.I dont have a smoke report but i have a couple girls at almost a month into flowering.They grow nice..love nutes and look chronic
ive grown and smoked it. in my opinion its more a quality smoke than a 'knock-u-the-fuck-out' kinda smoke. yield is good! i got nearly 5 ounces off 3 plants in 6.5l pots. bt as for taste, its lovely!! honestly ive fallen in love with this strain, i gt 22 P.E plants on the go right nw and thats all jus for personal smoke between me and my friends. its the type of weed that leaves a massive grin on your face without u even realising it. lol. u wnt be disappointed with it
