Anyone Harvested ak-48?

It requires a longer veg time to really bring out those flavours. 3-4 weeks plus.

Not sure why but the more mature plants seem to produce better flavour and smell. I did a long dry cure and it was beautiful man really good shit !

Iv read alot of people say it needs to preflower to get the full potency aswell.

Another problem I have with this strain is keeping it green. I also noticed in the bud porn by Smolenja10 that a lot of the leaves were yellow. Not sure if that is contributing to the taste.

The posts also seem to have common themes: doesn't taste the best (I find it harsh), and it tastes/smells good IF... (meaning if you don't get it just right, you have bad smelling weed that burns like a road flare). I'm done with this stuff - to each his own.

It's a real easy strain to grow! All you do is pump loads of nutes into it and let it grow, AK48 is a beginner friendly strain for sure.

Yeah I grew it alongside Northern Lights, critical mass and pineapple chunk, the only plants I had issues with were the pineapple chunk

Iv never gotten over 3 1/2 zips per plant with 4/5 under a 600w HPS.

Its weird tho, cos my last batch were poor yielders but there were two purples and a perfect jet black plant amongst the 6 so I think Nirvana fucked up my seeds.

I grew their shortrider autoflower and it never autoflowered

Ak 48 was my first strain i loved it. I moved to the west coast and couldnt take my mother of course. So i started to grow O G kush and GDP, nothing like the ak48. i would trim on the branch and hand on hangers, lower the temps to 60 65, total darkness for a week. the fill zip-lock Tupperware with buds i cut from the branch, and cure fore one week. opening and turning the buds every 6 hours and letting them breath for about 20 min. the back in darkness, do that for a week. awesome smell and taste. i flush after veg and one week before harvest. Oh i got some more seeds and am going to half ak48 the rest og kush and gdp. nothing like the AK though.

However I didn't cure very long before smoking it so I suppose with proper curing you could revive some of that fruity smell.

You should never dry with a fan running, thats where u fucked up...
