Anyone grown Yunnan before?

Title is pretty self explanatory, I'm looking for anyone who has grown Yunnan before to chime in.
I'm not looking for anything specific just to hear about your experience with the plant and maybe get some tips!

Right now I am growing out 4 of ACE's Orient Express. It is is Vietnam Black Sativa X China Yunnan, so a hybrid of what you are looking for. I'm about a few days out from switching them to flower, so unfortunately I don't know much yet. They all seem to be leaning towards their Yunnan lineage in terms of structure; including a very thick,strong stems.

I grew one. I had terrible germination rates. 1/7 popped but luckily I got a female.

I only ran her once. She went 10 and half weeks. Big yielded but not impressive. Woody and incense aromas.

I'd be interested in seeing what you get. It wasn't bad and Id like to see it again.

Wow those are bad germ rates. May I ask where you got your seeds from? I've popped one to see how she'll (bought fems to see if the strain would help me medicinally before buying regs to pheno hunt) like my organic super soil mix. It actually germed in less than 24 hours too.
When you say it wasn't impressive, do you mean the effects the strain had on you or how it grew, etc?

That's an interesting cross. I can imagine the terpenoid profile to be pretty interesting to say the least. That Vietnamese weed!

She was a slow vegger, to be expected with IBL. Overall she wasn't nearly as pretty as others in my garden. She did yield well, but overall it wasn't very strong in terms of medical effects.

I do think there may be something special in there, but I've been spoiled by hybrid vigor and I think with IBL one needs a different approach.

Eta bought them at the tude. Ace was great and offered me replacements of my choosing.

I was unaware that inbred lines typically vegged slower. It makes sense now that I think about it though. I have heard that they don't look terribly aesthetically pleasing, which is a wee bit saddening, but only an afterthought in regards to if it helps me medicinally.

Veg hee out good. My stretch was minimal.
