Dude he's using his original princess and genius moms.
And pulled a male from original c99 seeds to make the new lines,
which is how the original crosses were made.
Not a cash grab. The dude that made the original cross is continuing his work.
All the hack job wanna be f2s over the last 15 years were the cash grabs.

All those “hack jobs” were the only way you could get any BG gear over the past 15 years. Without them, BG wouldn’t be around today and there would be no demand for his stuff. Mr Soul’s the one who left the business and only came back when the legal climate made it possible to openly run a seed business in the US.
I’ve also heard him say he had the original clones back. Either that’s not completely true or people tend to prefer the work done by other breeders in the last 15 years, cuz for every positive review of the new BG stock, I’ve seen 5 negative.

I am very skeptical of this claim. Logistics alone make it almost impossible. Nevermind the part where someone supposedly kept his mom and/or her clones alive for him for FOURTEEN years. lol
Look I was going by what I have read online since Brothers Grimm released the new C99's. Bottom line is that the vast majority of people who bought the new C99 seeds & grew them out have stated that they are not anywhere near what the originals were. I’ve seen posts from people who have grown out multiple packs of the new C99 recommending that if people want to try C99 they should try Peak Seeds or Mosca or even Female Seeds over the new Brothers Grimm seeds.
Normally when there are that many people saying something like that it’s for good reason. I bear no ill will towards B/Grimm but based on the info at hand they’re most recent iteration of C99 was not up to standard & is being called a cash grab by those who have bought & grown the seeds. Plus, America is in the middle of a huge cannabis marketing push so it was perfect timing to make a stack of the back of a much-loved old time classic.
I heard (rightly or wrongly) that they had some of they’re original plants but not all hence the differences in end product.

I popped half a pack of Apollo 11 last run and got 4 females. Two of which were keepers. All fairly short and bushy with a very nice tropical fruity flavour with one of them being slightly fuely. I got 5 females from the rest of the pack that just got flipped last week. I can snap some pictures on this run if anyone’s interested.
I have also been running their killer queen for about a year now and it’s been a solid plant. Nice golf ball nugs from top to bottom.
I’ve never run any other c99 or it’s crosses so I don’t have much to compare it to but I’ve been happy with brothers Grimm so far

A nice happy upbeat Sativa head high, good for day time smoke. Fairly clear headed. Pairs quite nicely with a cup of coffee on the way to work.
I popped 7 and got 6 females out of that bunch. His stuff from 99 was fabulous. Too bad we get fixated on what was and not what is. Shouldn't represent it as being original.
I know bodhi had a nice original that he released for a bit but then pulled it after BG came on to the scene. Might be able to locate it through a member who may part with it. These plants were straight up skunky monkey type with no genius phenos to be found. no tall sativa like qualities. I duped myself by buying them.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Yeah, the Bodhi version sold out pretty quick. Not the end of the world. I did actually pick up a pack of BG Apollo 13. What swung it was them being on sale. New it was a bit of a gamble based on the comments but I thought at the price it was worth a punt. They now join the exceedingly long que of beans waiting to get popped!
