Anyone good with LEDs?

so I'm starting my first all-organic grow, so I thought I'd try something new and try using an LED light, because I haven't heard too much about them. I'm growing three autos, one each in a 3 gallon pot, so the area isn't too big. I just purchased a 90Watt UFO LED, The number of LED: 90pcs Red : Blue : Yellow (70 + 10 + 10), LED Wavelength: Red 630nm : Blue 460nm : Yellow 595nmRatio: 7:1:1 - Red : Blue : Yellow (70 + 10 + 10).

I wanted to see if anyone knows if this is going to be sufficient? I've seen grows that went pretty well with a 60watt, but I just wanted to see if anyone knew about this light in particular. Any thoughts, suggestions, or help would be appreciated.

maybe if you put a link so people could actually see it..
also square pots would be better as there isnt wasted space you get with circles especially as you say space is limited

Im still not convinced by using them. they are hella expensive and for the price you could get a 1000HPS that has better penetration and higher output on light.

lol true a 1000w hps would destroy a 90w led but the theres a reason most people use them such as 1000w hps is not practical

Classic RIU response. Trash his question and then suggest a 1000 watt light for a small space.

leds can get results but atm they will not be as good as hid lighting, but if led is the only practical option then go for it you will get buds but not a massive amount, id also go with dwarf autos in your situation

from everything i have been reading on the ufo is that the 90w is suppose to replace a 400w hps. i am sure as with both types of lights there are draw backs. leds less heat but not good penitration where there is alot of heat you get good penitration, i am sure if you are just growing a few plants you could get the light close enough for good growth. post some pictures of your grow and let us see how it goes.

90w will not get you the results of a 400 at all, i mean im all for leds iv got some myself but dont believe hype like that more like the results of a 150w or roughly around that area

Yeah, the reason I wanted to give the LEDS a try were because I read that they provide the same output as a 400hps, and they last for like ten years or something. I've read a bunch of mixed reviews on them, but I thought they were worth giving a try because the UFO is so small.

the link is here: http://stores.affordabletool.com/Items/glg-06-630?&caSKU=glg-06-630&caTitle=90 Watt UFO LED Plant Grow Light 420 7:1:1 Hydroponic 630nm

let me know what you guys think? and what kind of yield do you think I can get from using one of these? growing some dinafem auto haze, easy ryder (ak47/loyryder), and short stuff blue himilaya

yeah, by accident I ordered the wrong one. But the only difference is the yellow led wave length at 595nm. I didn't think it'd be that big of a deal so i didn't bother returning it

well as even leds designed for flower stage arent the best at it using ones made for the veg stage is not a good idea..

I have been growing a plant for the past two weeks using an LED panel. Not even a great one, fairly cheap.

Thats where I bought it from, seems to be working great...
I like that there is ZERO heat emission, no need for a fan except to strengthen the stem, uses ZERO power! I'm impressed with the purchase, I can keep you updated on my plants progress if you like. Ill subscribe to this.

Heres what it looks like underneath (sorry for the cell phone photos, can't seem to find my digi-cam)

A view from the top of the plant

The size, used a pen to compare.

Hope this helps...

that looks great, thanks a lot man. Yeah, I like mine so far. I have it running with two 75 watt flourescents, because I've read some growing articles that combining the white light from the flouros really helps. I'll take some pictures of mine as well when they grow a bit. You're only using 15 watts, but your plant looks nice. Can't wait to see mine under 90w

LEDS can produce some nice buds, but I doubt the one listed in the OP will. If the best they can offer in blue is 630 nm, they are off. Ideal is 640 & 660 nm diodes. Those 630's are cheap and won't produce much. They also missed the mark on the red diodes. That is a cheap UFO and I hope you got it cheap too.

I wish that I had of gotten the model up from mine. I would have been able to grow more plants, so if shes a male, Im screwed. But my model is fine for one plant.

Serapis, thanks for the feedbank. I got my UFO for 184.99. If there is a better one in that price range, let me know, because I have some time to return this one (even after the grow is over). I more or less wanted to try an organic grow using an LED, but i've definitely been skeptical. Any advice is appreciated...
