Anyone experimented with topping the new heads caused by LST?

I have 2 plants in my grow room at the moment and both have been under LST, the photo attached is a couple days ago and the lower heads have since caught up to the main head and all are currently sitting at the same height. 1 plant has 8 tops and the other has 12.
My question is, has anyone had a plant at this stage and topped or fimmed all of the heads? This is my first grow and I couldn’t help but wonder if I could turn 12 heads into 24

Assuming your in veg stage still, giving her 16+hours of light per day. yes topping her will give you 24 tops. You dont get any more bud weight. But yes more bud sites and beanching and it keeps your plant shorter, more dense and an even canopy.

I have also tried fimming but it can be unpredictable as you could get 2-5 tops per cut, instead of just 2. My preference is topping, both are good

Thanks for the reply, I’ll keep this thread updated with pics as they go

... Yeah I've done it a bunch especially with scrog. Got around 50 tops once ...
... Damn! That’s nuts lol! They’re in a tent and I don’t have a whole lot of room so I’ll give it a shot on one plant and which one works best for me for next grow ...
2 plants currently in a 2 x 4 SCROG and gradually bringing down the lights on time. Just counted over 110 tops between the two girls

Hey guys, got another question. My current lights on schedule is from 5pm to 9am while the plants are in veg. When I switch to flower I want to change the schedule so the light comes on a bit earlier, around 1-3pm. My question is when I make the flip, can I instantly change the schedule to when it suits me or should I slowly work it back from 5? Cheers

Plant update: just switched to flower 5 days ago. I’m currently using a scrog and was just wondering if I should be continuing to weave the heads through the net at this point? Also how do they look?
All growth above the net is since the flip, the light has been 20 inches above the canopy. Any input/advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys :)

The plants themselves look good. But ... what you have is not a SCROG. You are using trellis netting which will help to support the branches as the bud puts on weight in a few weeks.

SCROG-ing requires weaving the branches through the mesh to spread plants outward before you flip. By weaving your branches, you are allowing bud sites lower down the branch to become part of your main canopy thereby increasing the number of tops when you flower.

I’ve got a question for you in particular since you grow once a year. How long would you say your buds are nice and fresh for before they start degrading from being stored too long? I’ve been thinking it may be beneficial for me to grow a bulk amount once per year rather than a few grows but I’ve never actually had bud sitting for longer than a month or so. So how longs the shelf life? Cheers
