Anyone ever use that refelctive foil tape?

I was browsing around Home Depot, and saw a roll of reflective foil tape. No wrinkles very reflective and pretty cheap. Would this be a good alternative to using mylar? I figured since its flat with no wrinkles it wouldnt create any hotspots.

if it is what i think you are describing, i use it to seal my ductwork and repair holes, etc.. but by the time you covered a wall with it - it would probably be MUCH cheaper to just use mylar.

Come to think of it thats exactley where I have seen it on ducting. I agree with you about the wall but I was thinking of using it to cover my veg cab.

I found a wrapping paper that is almost just as good as mylar.. (the underside) not the printed side
Look around for some, Im sure you might even save a few $$

foil works. Just put it on DULL side out. this eliminates hot spots because the reflective surface is now diffused. hell of alot cheaper than most other applications.

I used that aluminum foil tape to hold sides of the wall together... works excellent!

i use it everyday at work. It looses its shine after a while. It might still be reflective but not as good as new. Every time you wipe it it will get all fine scratches and crap in it and become dull. I think panda plastic would work better. And besides they want like $14 I think i saw it for at home depot! I should start selling it on the side :mrgreen:

look at gift wrapping paper..
You will see its much better, and cheaper.. Its next best thing to mylar ;)
You can find it at most dollar stores
