Anyone ever seen this before?

Hopefully its not too hard to tell from the pic, but whats happening is there is "bud" growing from the middle of a (almost dead) fan leaf. at first i thought it must be just a piece of bud that somehow fell into place, but upon closer inspection it is in fact growing from the end of the stem where all the blades shoot off from. anyone ever seen this? i think i cloned this peticuler plant, if so am i on the brink of breeding a marijuana strain that grows buds from all the leaves? imagine the potential of something like this getting into the right hands, could revolutionize weed as we know it. Or is this just a common mutation that has no real value?

It's not unheard of but not very common. Asian genes tend to have it occur more frequently.
