Anyone a bubbleponics pro?

I just started my first grow after many months of research, shopping, and construction. Although I have done a lot of research I still feel I don't have enough detailed info. I have read much of Roseman's guide, all of Nebula Haze's material on growweedeasy.com over and over, and have decided to do main lining as described by Nugbuckets. I just want to know if I'm doing this all correctly or if I should change something before I hit a brick wall.

To let you know where I am, I have build a grow room 6'hx4'wx3'd with panda film and pvc, grow lamp with cfls and reflector (2700k and 6500), a 5gal bubble bucket with a water pump and air pump, and a net pot bucket lid with Rockwool and hydroton.

I placed the seeds straight into the RW ran water over them for 6 hours then watered the RW to keep it damp over 5 days. Today was day 6 and I have 1" sprouts. So I changed my res, ph'ed my filtered well water, and added 1/4 the recommended nutes (1.5mls in 3.75gal of ph'ed water) for General Hydroponics orange, green, and purple nutes. Within 6 hours my spirits are standing tall and much greener.

What do you think? I'm trying to grow on a budget so please keep that in mind. I just bought a Ph meter and a ppm meter today which will be here in a week. I'll see if I can post some pictures of my progress so far. Thanks much.

I am new to growing in variations of hydroponics. I'm doing aero.
Try posting in the Hydroponics section.
They can give more specified help.
Good luck.

hey whats up
I do 5gal bubblers use 4-1/2" airstones in the bottum of buckets, large air pump and mesh baskets I use GH nutes PH'd to 5.8 check PH every other day you can actually see them grow 1/2"every day

any questions just ask
will post some pic's of my latest grow 2 weeks into flowering

Like grow2grow I am here to help. Might I suggest a few things:

1. Insulate the bucket with a few layers of silver bubble wrap and aluminum foil tape. You can find a both in rolls at lowes or home depot, they are pricey at ~$35 but well worth it for water temps. + they make your grow look futuristic and cool.

2. Not sure what the wattage is on that fluoro but it looks a bit high, you might consider inching it down slowly.

3. Why did you choose to do 3 seeds in one rockwool in one bucket? What are you using for intake and exhaust into the tent and what are your ambient temps. and water temps.?

Everything looks great otherwise! Nice job!

Help please!? I'm having an issue. I changed my set up considerably since my last post. I sectioned my plants into 3 pieces of rockwool. Placed each plant into a net pot and placed those net pots into a big tote tub lid 2 in the top corners and one in bottom middle. Set the tub up just like a bubble bucket filled with 20gal of water and light tighted the lid. Looks great perfect size for my light (four 13w 6500k cfls, one 60some watt 6500k cfl, and 4 23w 2700k cfls distibuted evenly). Ok so, when I ph my water, the next day, the water is cloudy and gross looking. Im sure its not good. Ill explain exactly how I ph the tub. I put my nutes in (1/5 the directions) then dip out a gallon of water put in a third of the ph down stir and add half back to the res and stir, wait 15 minutes add the rest stir and repeat until ph is correct. Close up shop for the night go to bed and in the morning it's cloudy and ph has gone back up. My little sprouts are still green as ever and should be getting a new set of sprout leaves soon. What do you think?

Sorry, had to ask lol. I have no clue as Im a newb as well. Haven't had to deal with any major issues yet knock wood. I do know that air stones will raise PH but I dont use air so again not much help, sorry!

I use well water and it took a while to dial every thing in at first. My ph was all over the map and still have to add 30mls per 100l to get it to 5.8. RO is an option if needed but logistically tough for me with supply, storage, and drain.

You don't really have a bubble-Ponics system, I see you have a drip tube. You shouldn't really need that.
5 gallon bucket is twice as big as you need it.
You only really need @2 gallons per plant.
Your providing everything the plant needs right there in the nutrient solution
which bring us to your root system. Get in the habit of trimming your root system.
You don't need 4 foot long roots when your doing hydroponics.
If you get in the habit of trimming your roots ever 3-4 weeks.
You'll have a big root system that's close to the shoot of the plant.
sorta like topping your plant, but your doing it to the roots.
Tip- Don't use a air stone. Use a stainless steel screw in the end of your air line.
It will never plug up like air stone do. It will never rust, and you can control the air flow by screwing in or screwing out the screw.

Good Luck on Your Grow.
