I have never ever smoked weed that I deemed, "OMG it was harvested too early." I can't think of any of my friends that have either... I have seen nugs turn into what looked like a blonde rock thing, and Black(so deep purple) frosted nugs, and it was completely nuts. I perfer the real narcotic stone anyway. Its can't be overdone for me...

Old thread but I agree. A lot of the bud I've smoked (through dealers) seems premature. Just feels like it should be stonier. I've also noticed they have that GREEN smell, like lawn smell. I've been told this a sign of premature bud. Is this true? So far it's held true.

There was one great bag I wish I knew the strain... It would have been my definition of narcotic. It had me nodding like I was on opiates. GREAT for chilling and sleeping, it was so hard to physically move on the stuff. SHITTY for during the day though !

fdd, I see what you're saying about harvesting when the plant looks ready. How close do your crops appear "harvest ready" compared to the recommended flowering period for strains? Or is it different every time? I'm talking outdoors.

nah harvesting early is a waste .. Good advice on the extended flush, most people think a flush is a week long, but week 7 flusheroo. Thats too bad, I hear of people chopping down early contradicting the advice they were given as well, I guess they either cant wait or are scared of getting high. The earliest I would ever chop, is beige trichrome head, milky stock. I prefer dark beige tri's, you get denser and more colorful buds flushing early and harvesting later.

your right on ZW, anytime I pick something up from a friend, I look at it under 30x, and its laughable, through the roof pricing on poop schwag. Who cares what the strain is when the tri's are just starting to milk up ... crazy

Yeah, flush that shit early son.

During my last harvest, during the final flush my plants got a little nute burned, even 3 weeks after feeding them last time, which means there are plenty of nutes in the soil even after not feeding them for major time. Basically, I didn't feed my plants for nearly a month before harvest and they yielded heavily.

Anyway, back on the topic, you should always wait just a little longer. I noticed one plant I just cut, one morinng, I was going to cut it at 8 weeks and in the morning, the next thing you know, she was covered in white hairs.

I think it has something to do with WINDOWS OF HARVEST, and I think bud has this, like where she grows and covers herself in trichs, then, she grows again (new calyxs) and more trichs, then she stops, then all of a sudden, new hairs and more trichies

But anyway, early budz are not ripe.

What should the feeding schedule be like at this point of extreme ripening. And roughly what week should Nitrogen stop being fed. O fdd I just sent you a PM about the same thing justa little more detail.

wait until you think it's ready, then wait 2 more weeks. :)
How about harvesting during a dark period. (have heard several people tell me wait till the dark period to harvest...) Is this more B.S.? I can't think why harvesting during the plants dark period would matter.. FDD can you confirm this is bullshit?
