Anybody live in a state that has legalized Medical Marijuana?

Just wondering because I live in Michigan where it was just approved on election day.

I have Crohn's disease, which is one of the illnesses covered by Medical Marijuana. On my next visit to the doctor I will be asking about my rights to it and if it's a good treatment regimen. When I started smoking it was partly to see if it would help my disease, which indeed it did help with my appetite incredibly.

My couple questions I have about it are;

When prescribed how do they give it to you? In form of seeds, or as the actual plant? I know cultivation is a part of it and in Michigan will be allowed to have 3 mature plants and 12 immature plants, while carrying up to 2.5 oz. at a given time.

My other question is how hard is it to actually be approved? I've had Crohn's for 3 years and it has gotten progressively worse. When the symptoms began I weighed about 175 lbs and had decent muscle definition. 3 years later I weigh 155 and am skinny as a rail.

What kind of quality Marijuana do you get? I have smoked a lot for the last couple years, so I know a lot about it outside of growing. I've been told that the stuff you get is pretty potent, but then I've heard it depends on how it's grown, etc.

Any insight/comments/info would be appreciated. Thanks!

You'll have to read the law for Michigan. It the other states it's not dispensed by a pharmascist. In Washington you have to grow your own or buy on the black market. Dispensaries Aren't legal here. You're going to have to do your research on what strains may be best for your disease. There are 2 basic strains Indica and Sativa. But they have been interbred to where there are hundreds of different strains.
