hey hey. so here's what's going on with my first grow ever. had 5 plants in the beginning, only one ended up female. terrible bagseed. anyway I switched to 12/12 on 6/22 so a little over 30 days. Have a concern about some abnormalities on 2 leaves that have a strange orange pattern on them. I had no idea what I was doing when I started this grow(some of you may remember) and this lady had a stressful life in the beginning. The nutrient burns on the leaf tips are old. Did a serious battle at the very start of flower with yellowing leaves but transplanting and using only water(no nutes) have brought her back into shape. This is miracle grow potting mix AND miracle grow perlite, both of which are horrible and have time released ferts in micro amounts(in the.07,.07,.07 range) but somehow still able to burn my plant, which I don't think I'll ever understand. So it should be noted that she's in the upswing after a period of abuse. But I have two concerns:

Does anyone know what this orange action is on the leaf in the first pic?? Is that possibly fungal growth or just nutrient burn?

My stems were a purple mess for a while there, but are healing and are scarred brownish-green now, but what's weird is that if I were to bend them past 45degrees they would break, except for the new growth at the top, which is what I imagine normal is supposed to be. Is this something I should be worried about?

Other than that how do you guys think she looks? I think I did an ok job of bringing her back. I included an earlier pic of what she looked like before.

I imagine I will get something out of this plant after all. Don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but it would feel good to blow some smoke and read through the posts where a few members were literally telling me to throw all my plants away and that they would all die no matter what I did. Some of you guys are the best ever though, and have really help my hand through this process so far. What do you guys think about the above issues?

You can't really tell by the pics because of the camera I have but inside the budsites have millions of hairs and so far 3 nodes have connected with bud-goo. The sugar leaves look a healthy dark green and there's lots of crystals. :)

Miracle Grow soil isn't really ideal for indoor plants. Causes lockout. You should pH your runoff. I bet it's crazy high. You want it @ around 6.8. PH your next watering/feeding to correct the difference.

These were helpful when I was just getting started.

thanks greenhouse save! you've been there with me through the good times and the bad.

yeah pinworm my ph runoff has been crazy high! whenever I mentioned that on here everyone said that "runoff doesn't mean anything." I still added some lime in there. Maybe I should just leave my water at 7.0 or 7.5 the way it comes right out of the tap huh? btw is that a jello Biafra and the GSM album cover as your avatar? NOICE!

wow that chart is really helpful. I suppose if your locked out from ph imbalance it would be hard to figure out what was going on, and I'm thoroughly convinced that is exactly what was happening all along, because ever since I started using just water and not really bothering to adjust the ph when it was at 7.0 it began correcting. But would it be advisable to overcompensate the other way and say ph my h20 to 8 or something, or does that sound like a bad idea?

bad idea, If anything, ph it to 6 and see if that helps.

by that leaf deficiencies chart I qualify as having progressive to late stage zinc deficiency. anyone know the best way to correct this once I get the ph under control? ive got at my disposal the foxfarm nute trio(micro, veg, and bloom ferts), calmag, b1 Schultz transplant solution, some general hydro rapidstart, and some epsoma garden lime.. I guess a micronutrient should have zinc correct? maybe if the lockout is corrected that problem will take care of itself.
bingo. don't use anymore bottled stuff while in that soil. just phed water
