Anybody ever had a sativa seedling look like an indica?

Im growing Cannabiogen's Destroyer, fem seed. Its almost 2 weeks old and the damn seedling leaves are pretty fat for what is a pure sativa crossed strain?!? I'm also growing a Barney's Tangerine Dream, also a sat, but it looks like a sat.

So, has anyone ever grown a sat before and had seedling leaves look awfully indica-ish, only to start putting out the typical long, thin sat leaves?

Weird. I had a pure Sour D do that to me once. She ended up being a gnarly pheno. Glad I took cuts.

Got it from Herbies, so I will go through them....

here's what it looks like....

I'm growing a g13 haze which is supposed to be sativa dom, but it grows very short and bushy and had fat indica like leafs. I was wondering the same about everyone else haha.

Durban Poison is 100% sativa has fat leaves

this isnt a sat dom hybrid, its the product of 100% sat crosses, shouldnt be indica genetics in it, like there would be in a sat dom, but thanks for the input!

i'm thinking it was the breeding of 2 sativa looking strains
but there was some indica in one of those lines

Don't believe it. They list the parentage as landraces yet it finishes in 8 weeks?
I don't believe it has 0 indica in it.

herbies wont speak to u about germination or growing since they only sale souviners..thats what they told me at least when i asked the yeild for one of a strain on my 1st order 3yr ago

Here is CBGs description of Destroyer, all I have ever heard about CBG is that they are legit.

This is a 100% Sativa variety. Its ascendant lineages are Meao Thai and an early and stable Mexican/Colombian hybrid. This backcross between two of the best studs of CBG has been very complicated and its development has taken over 7 years. The total acclimatisation of the mother Thai has been practically impossible, so an earlier and more productive Sativa was introduced to complement these characteristics. The result is a strain which represents the subtleties of the best Sativas in the world, predominantly Thai. The small and numerous floral bracts are covered with lots of trichomes loaded with THC. The aromas are delicate with nuances of lavender. The variety has a very strong psychoactive effect while still very clear and cerebral. Medium / high yield outdoors and a bit less indoors. Thanks for the insight here, I think I am just qoing to say fuck it and grow it and not bring it up. It was only a single seed, not even a pack. So I will grow it out and see what I get. Ive never had an issue with Herbies in any way, so fuck it, it is what it is.

ya u never know that might be the best dank u ever grew..ive always has good seeds from herbies..i think of all the seeds i have ordered from them about 10 didnt germ and was prolly my mistake

If it came in the mail, it might not be the seed that you think it is. Just a thought.

Yep, thats my thought/point kinda, I don't think its Destroyer, going to ask CBG if they've ever had this, but I'm guessing it was a mix up on Herbie's, I will have to pay attention to the other seeds in that order, perhaps there was a mix up.

I have no complaints about Herbie's even with this minor issue. Hopefully it grows into something cool, going to call it Creator (opposite of Destroyer ), because who knows what it is?!?

Call it what it is. There is already enough confusion surrounding strain names. I understand your frustration, but this is what you get buying seeds. There are more companies out there that have bullshit marketing then legit honest companies.

I bet herbies didn't mess up, I bet Cannabiogen is full of shit that it's 100% sativa.

I will say again, a 100% sativa with land race genetics will not finish in 8 weeks, that's stupid. We're talking about 14 week+ strains so they bred those together and got an 8 week strain? my ass they did. Almost double what is advertised by Cannabiogen (god I hate their name, the more I type it the worse it gets)

What you bought was marketing hype, take it as a lump, don't buy from them again if they are dishonest about their genetics, which they obviously are. This is not Herbies fault at all, you got the right seeds I'd put $100 on it. It's a hybrid sold as a 100% sativa that's very dishonest.

You want a fast finishing sativa? Go get c99 from Female seeds. It gets love from everyone that grows it pretty much, it's not some bullshit "100% sativa" it's a hybrid with mainly sativa characteristics. Just like this one, but with honesty to back it up. On top of that it's DIRT fuckin cheap and quality.

If I were you I would email Cannabiogen and demand they change the description. If you email herbies it should be just to tell them that the description is false advertising and they should take it down.

Well, either way it must still be bomb if it made it into the 10 top strains list, right? Im more inclined to think it was Herbie's. I'm not even frustrated about it, sometimes things go a different way then what we think. Still going to contact CBG, I also still consider them legit. They may not be very well known, and are a small breeder out of Spain, but they are legit as far as I am concerned. I'm sending them a message right now, we'll see what they reply.

I would if I paid $25 for a single seed. This business is going to keep being dishonest if we let them, if they are lying call them on it. Maybe you get some free seeds and save someone else this bullshit? They will be better for it as a company having honest descriptions is very important there are hundreds of threads just like this of people feeling swindled because of breeder dishonesty/misrepresentation.

Herbies is one of the few banks I never hear a bad thing about. I don't know why you'd think it's their fault when the proof that Cannabiogen is lying is right there in front of you.

Go look at Seedfinder.eu at Destroyer and go look at FS's C99 and see what a reputable company does with their parentage not some bullshit mystery that Cannabiogen is putting forward.

And no it doesn't have to be dank to be on a high times list the company has to pay to be on the High Times list That's why I don't like linking then, they are hype rag. That's it in a nutshell they sell folks products based on unfounded hype. It's why they advertise green house, AN, Barneys farm..etc.etc. If HighTimes is being more honest then a breeder I would stay very VERY far away from that breeder. That's my 2 cents. So they got paid and still told more of the truth then Cannabiogen...

Cole Train is on that list too and I have heard nothing but bad things about that strain it's one of the only strains I hear talked badly about by Reserva privada

I have never heard anything about Cannabiogen, good or bad, but from your experience and their strain list ,descriptions and prices I will never deal with them.


The best advice I can give you is : In the future if you can't go to seedfinder.eu or a forum and find the exact parentage of the strain you want to buy don't buy it period. I'm talking something similar to the C99 genetics on Seedfinder.eu (http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/C99/Female_Seeds/)

Hell even the Girl scout cookies guys talk about their genetics and they want to keep that a secret they will still tell you whats in it. Why won't Cannabiogen? There's absolutely no reason to hide this information from the paying customer, in fact it solves a tonne of problems. If they said this is a sativa leaning hybrid with Sativa effects and growth characteristics but an indica type finish time would you have made this thread? There's no reason for this shit and people shouldn't accept it it's never going to go away if they do.
