Any tips on lowering humidity?

Hey ppl. I'm having some trouble with humidity going into flower. I've turned off my intake and my exhaust is on auto to maintain 24c. Lights on my humidity is around 50% but lights off it'll go upto 96%! I've got 1 16" oscillating fan to move the air around and yesterday I hung up some big towels to try and catch some of the moisture (I know, probably useless but I've kinda spent a packet on the setup as it is so I wanted to avoid buying a dehumidifier if it was possible).

Any ideas?

Sounds like your exhaust doesn't run with lights off? You might have to run it and take a little temp drop at night to get the humidity down....or get a dehumidifier.

what show the humidity be, at any give time, it's winter no humidity to speak of,just put water buckets out. I don't know what I'll do in the summer when it's real humid out.

Add a small MH bulb to the room.. That will dry the air up.. My flowering tent was 70%rh added a extra MH to room & it knocked it down to 25-30% rh..

Yes. Leave your exhaust on during lights out.

I turn my exhaust off for sound concerns during the day and mine does the same thing. My fix was a bit expensive but very effective. I have a humidifier on timer with the 1000 watt to kick on, humidistat keeps room at 45% RH, then when my exhaust and light kicks off I have a large dehumidifier that kicks on an opposite timer with humidistat set to 45% so I don't get a humidity swing at all anymore unless I forget to drain the water pan (I keep a wireless temp/hydrometer at my computer desk so I can monitor the room 24/7 from anywhere in my home.

The fan controller I have ensures the fan can't turn off even when the temp drops below my target. I am about to add the 4th 600w hps next week, do you think that'll help?

I use a dehumidifier because I live on the water

Dehumidifier was the only way I could get it right. Of course I had to have a whole crop infested with powdery mildew first in order to figure out that it is VERY important. Get a dehumidifier. Peace!

I think thats enough to scare me into buying one..... Any sugestions on brand/specs? ohhh What wattage are dehumidifiers in general?

My dehumidifier is actually a 1000BTU AC unit that also has a large dehumidifier built in if I don't want the cool air, I paid $150 for mine. I use a 9000BTU AC unit during lights on and the 1000BTU AC just to dehumidify during lights off (compressor not running)

I have a 50 pint, most people here I see describe theirs is 70 pint.

Add a MH to your room..

A MH can only be on during the lights on period where most of the humidity problem is during lights off. I am curious though, does it need to be a MH or will HPS lower the humidity further during light hours?
