I recently just got my first car bcuz i can drive soon ( got learners pretty late )Not the best thing in the world.. Cost me 1500 has some decent rust and scratches, front bumper is damaged but the car hasnt been in an accident and ive noticed 2 dents in the car? What do u guys think? 2002 cehvy impala Ls

Car has 190k KM. the engine is very loud, sounds like a motorcycle but not as loud but same kind of noise and the the car cranks a bit when u turn the car on. The car has no gas, could that be causing the cranking sound? ( this is recently new )

the problem i am facing with this car is how long it will have to last me. Im hoping for a year because i could buy a new car in that time. I just dont want this car to give out on me while im driving - especially if im driving to work in that time .. The seller said this car could go up to 300k with good maintence.

did i get ripped off? :(

Im fretting that this was a serious waste of money because of the engine noise. Everything under the hood looks ok, no cracks.

No one could tell you that without looking at the car. It always pays to take someone that knows cars along with you to look at it before you buy.

I did take a friend hes good with cars. He said this car will eventually blow its gasket down the road. I dont care about that just as long as it can go for a year cuz i dont plan on having this that long

I wouldn't have bought it. Unless your friend will do it for cheap, a shop will charge you anywhere between 400 and 1000, depending on how crooked they are. And that's just the head gasket. How are the ball joints? Are the tires wore on the edges? Tie rod ends? Those are all things you usually have to change on a used car with over 100,000 miles on it. $$ adds up. I would have spent 1500 on something that's a little older but cleaner all around, and better maintained.

Fuck. So this probly wont even last a year huh
n theres no way to tell if itll blow out on me?
i dont know about any of the other stuff but all i know is that he said the head gasket will crap on me down the road. I dont really care about this car, its just my first. Right away when i get 2500$ im guna buy a new car cuz i have a feeling this 1 wont last long. But dam.. 1500$ is a lot.

There's really no way to tell when, or if a head gasket will go bad. It might not at all. There are no symptoms until you have either coolant in your oil, or coolant leaking outside the engine. I'd be more worried about the ball joints and such. You say it sounds like a motorcycle. The engine itself, or the exhaust you mean? You might just need some exhaust/new muffler work done. Does the engine knock or tick? Does it leak anything? How does the transmission shift?

Just change the engine oil CORRECTLY. Ima suppose your not equipped with all the oil changing tools. So pay a inspection shop or whatever to do it. Not a friend!! Unless he is a real gearhead or at least 1/2 a gearhead. Lucas oil and others have certain lubricants that have "sealers" in them etc.. For head gaskets and such if NEED BE. Otherwise i wouldnt suggest it really.

Whatcha mean it has no gas? Put some damn gas in it. J/k.

Tbh mate doesnt sound like you have a clue when it comes to cars so err on the side of caution and jus drive/get it towed to a reputable local garage and let them tell you whats wrong with it and how much it will be too have it all fixed, if they amount they quote you is excessive then take your car back to where you bought it from and ask for your money back as they have sold you a car that is not safe to be driven.
