Any recommendations for a par meter

According to the app developer(s), "There is no issue with Samsung phones". And they use Samsung phones (among others) in their testing/development. Eg: Samsung Galaxy phones.
I don't really care one way or another since I use an iPhone...but there's more than a few guys here who will yell and shout about how the app is garbage because it doesn't work accurately on their Samsung phones.

Make sure you check the permissions before installing any app on your phone. I looked at a few of these apps for measuring light and some of them have access to your GPS location, and other permissions they don't need.

You know. .. if you constantly check eBay... a deal pops up more times than none .. just have to be on the hunt. Just grabbed an Apogee 500 (with wand and case) for half the price. Peer pressure is a bitch ...lol..you know who you are fucker....lol...thanks for the push. :)
There are vendors in China that fab units themselves and are extremely affordable on EBay. Long ship time from the orient. No prime shipping. Good stuff. Samsung diodes...

If you watch growgreenmi the phantom meter goes on sale periodically. Well worth the money.

It helped me increase growth rate in veg by using less intense light.

Realized had been stunting growth with too intense of light due to too close of placement.

Plants have been healthier overall since making adjustments.

The data has been enlightening
What PAR works the best for you in veg?

Not the way everyone does it but I have better results easing up the power and dropping the hours in increments.
My tent is running at 15/9 right now. I don’t know that it’s better or worse for the grow, but sometimes it’s easier to adjust the time vs. the light intensity to hit my target DLI. At the very least, the plants don’t show any signs of caring and it’s three less hours of energy expenditure.

Light = photosynthesis = bud development and density

Not sure if you looked at the results I posted about that app, but it’s out to lunch which would also make your DLI wrong as well.

you have enough ppfd. par is the range of useable light...
Here's an interesting thing I learned about usable light and it's relation to PAR meters. From the video posted above we see that usable light falls between 400-700 nanometers (the range of all the colors of light). Most PAR meters out there can't even measure that. The FULL range. They fall short of the 700 mark. Check the lighting diagrams for the said meter your looking at. The Apogee instruments for example have improved on their original sensors here in this diagram.
