It fluffs up. Extremely compressed. I like it. Beware mine requires soap at first as a surfactant. Calculate somewhere in between is my suggestion. But it’s my current medium of choice.

Yucca is suggested as a mix in for better early water absorption. .

edit add: I don’t add perlite to Sunshine 4 Advanced and don’t miss it. It dries fairly quickly and I like that.
Thank you sir!... i do have some EarthJuice to help with hydrophobic mixes.

Yup thats what comes out of a 3.8 compressed bale of promix, unless what your showing has been baled up like a rock should be pretty close.
Im looking at filling 30, 7 gallon pots. so... if 7 gallons = ~1.2 cf per pot, looks like I'll need about 8, 3cf compressed bales.... if my math is correct.

At the most if its baled tight an expands well 6 might do it cutting it close, I used to buy the 5k bricks of coco shit would expand to 30 gals great for swamp growing just dump them an let Mother Nature do her thing.

Say what?... out of a 3 cf bale?
I can't vouch for the exact numbers, but I bought two bales of ProMix HP+ thinking it would be good for something like 6 5g pots...and I can say that so far I'm about 2/3rds of the way through one bale and I've filled 6x 5g pots, 7x .75g pots, a bunch of seeding trays, etc. So yeah, it does expand beyond my expectations. I would guess I could get another few 5g's out of the same bale.

I don’t use the organic garden mix but I use same brand premium moisture. It’s not bad… not great either. Just what Wally World has
I bought the premium moisture bales last year as a base, 90% peat. See whats in the bag of organic, then decide.
