You can pick up a small heater from Wal-mart for about $10-15. Be sure to put a bowl of water in front of it, so it doesn't dry the air out too much.

Just remember that these small heaters use something like 3kw+

I say might as well invest in the daytime temp increase by using more light(s) instead of getting a heater in there.

You can also grow the plants in an insulated container to keep the warmth in.

Or if you're exhausting your reflector air just put it back into the room.

My grow is also in a basement and i'm vegging 24hrs to keep warmth in there. Once I get a mom light going in there I won't have to i'll just time the lights so something is always going.

Having done this i'm seeing 71 during the night and 80 during the day with 32-40 degree weather outside.

if that doesn't work a heater with a thermostat on it to heat the room up to say 78 then shuts off and kicks back on when room dips to 74

Hey man I picked a tiny 200w space heater from Walmart . It's dimensions are 6.5"x 3.5"x 4.25". It was like $12. I use it for my night temps. My tent is 4'x4'x7 and it will bring temps up easily in there about 15 degrees f. Then I just use my exhaust controller to get in the right temp range . I'll use 2 as the night get colder but they are the best for my situation they take up no space in the tent.

Hey dude, your forgetting about the differential between night and day temps, suppose he get's the lights, they'll be fine during day but what would warm the plants during night? with your experience you should know that this would shock his plants badly.
