Any idea whats wrong with my clones (pics)

It's hard to tell by the pics, but that soil looks awful dry. Young plants don't have a strong root system built yet, and don't tolerate their roots being dry, very well. If their tap roots are sitting in dry soil, those plants aren't going anywhere. Give them a good watering, just like I told the other guy(a few minutes ago), and I'm betting they perk up for ya. :)

You have enough perlite in that soil that you won't have to worry about overwatering, unless you flood them every day.

yeah it looks like overwatering to me too and maybe that's miracle gro water with nutes....clones don't need nutes

Oh yeah.....I agree, get rid of the cardboard box.

To answer all questions asked so far: fox farm ocean forest. Im not growing them out of a carboard box, like i said ill quickly take the 5 best and put them into their own pots.

I dont think its overwatered. Only one or two or them are dropping. Im more concerned about the yellowing and lack of growth.

oh i see how the pics make it seem like its wet soil.. its really not wet the way it looks... more dry than wet.

Lift up that cardboard box, and see if it damp on the bottom. If the bottom is completely dry, water them. It's really hard to tell by the pics, but to me, that soil looks really dry. If they aren't taking in water, they aren't feeding, which would cause yellowing.

i went and examined the soil, its really not wet anywhere.. maybe slight dampness underneath the top, but i did put a liter of water into that, of whcih most drained.

dude you should really have those plants in some kind of plastic container with drainage holes in the bottom so you can water them properly. what were u thinking using cardboard??????

When soil gets that dry it gets resistant to water, and will run right through the soil if you pour it in quickly, leaving dry pockets all over the place. You might have to go back and water them again, if most of the water ran right through the soil and out the bottom. I use 1 and 2 liter bottles to water mine, and I drilled tiny holes in one of the bottle caps and use that so i have a 'sprinkler type' water flow when i water. It spreads the water much more evenly, and eliminates that problem. When soil gets that dry I usually give them a light watering, then wait 15 minutes or so for the soil to moisten up, then go back and finish. That ensure that there aren't any dry pockets in the soil(a big no-no).

Thanks jawbrt.. you pretty much confirmed my suspicion so i gave them a much better watering this time. Then made sure to drain excess. The soil is certainly evenly moist around all clones now. Hopefully new growth will appear soon.

I had clones that did that to at 2 weeks old and I thought it was normal shock from being cut so i left them and they came back in about 5 days looking better then when i cut them. I wasnt giver them any nutes either until 3.5 weeks. Mine were hydro dont know if that matters or not

yeah hydro i thought theyd bounce back up too, but its been longer than 5 days now. I dont need nutes since its FF ocean forest

Just a thought when ya put the clones into the dirt why not use 20 oz party cups. They're cheap, easy to poke drainage holes in the bottom, and easy to transplant from.

haha good point, i was looking for a quick fix that day. I will go buy the cups. Though, them being in a cardboard box is obviously not why they are currently suffering.
