any idea how much longer for these?

First time growing, and I think she is nearing harvest, it was placed under the 600w hps flowering lamp on June 7 (taken out of veg on that day and placed under the hps). I'm just starting to see a couple orange hairs all the rest look white. I also replaced the water in my res with clean plain water (emptied, filled, emptied and filled again just to make sure the water is clean). I'm wondering if its possible to estimate how much ill have after curing? I held up a single AA battery as a reference for size. Also, how much longer do they probably have?

Before I get too many comments about the big leaves being gone, I removed them on advice I received from a friend that came over to check them out. It was at least 2 weeks ago that I did that and this is how they look right now, doesnt seem to have harmed it any.

Hi res versions:

Like 4 sets of fan leaves ago. I would say cut them when you have the time and are ready, they sure are. They don't have enough leaf structure to sustain life much longer.Did they die and fall off?, Or did you decide to pluck them to "Get more light to the bud"?

A friend came over to check them out and told me to cut off all the fan leaves and said it will get more light to the bud and put more energy into making bud. After trimming them all off I read elsewhere you are not supposed to do that though and one of the indicators when they are done is when the leaves turn yellow, that and the orange hairs. So the only reason there are no big leaves is cos i removed them. Its been at least a week or two since I did that and it doesnt seem to have harmed it or anything.

that was the worst idea ever when you see your friend call him an ass and never take his advice again.....the big fan leaves are the storage tanks and major energy producers of the plant

Sounds like they ARE still ok. Don't think anything's gunna happen this far after... Probably should have left those though. And they look ready to me. But i'm still kinda noobie

Edit: Actually after the high res pictures I don't know. Disregard my advice and wait for more people to respond.

Yea I kinda figured you plucked them, that's what the pics look like anyway. And the above post that said ur that was the worst idea ever is pretty much right. The leaves absorb light not the buds...

The plant will finish out without the fan leaves. Yield will be affected, and ripening may be prolonged, but the plant will finish and it looks like you've got some nice nugs there. Carry on and please punch your stupid friend in the face for us all.

Poor plant.. still has a couple, well.. maybe now a few weeks left. They SHOULD swell up more, but who knows now that you butchered them. Don't listen to people who don't have proven experience. Your action won't mess up their gardens, but their advice can certainly mess up yours.

Nice pix. You're close. Like two weeks close.
I would of said two to 3 weeks . Cant believe ya chopped down now when ya got peeps telling you to wait more time.

I hope ya not lookin for a couch lock! Should be a nice smoke still but they defo needed more time so you've lost out on yield and potency. The pistils havent even started to re tract into the bud let alone all the white hairs sticking out.

Type in goole - Ripe flowering cannabis buds and click on images. That will give you a better look of what a ripe bud looks like.

bummer :( the guy that gave me them (diff friend) came over and looked at them under 25x and he said they were done and to chop them down, he's already had harvests so I figured he knew more than could be seen with a photo, I guess all my friends gave me bad advice :( hopefully it is still good smoke...

might of chopped early but they still look decent, and if you harvested early your not going to get the couchlock, your going to get the heady rushy kind of buzz, couchlock comes from high % of amber triches which form in the last stages of flowering

Oh, thanks for the info you and everyone! Does that mean I can just look at a dispenseries meds under magnification for ambers to see if it will be couch locky??
