Hello, I'm growing a sativa dominant hybrid under 400 watt mh with 4 1500 lumen 2700k leds to add some red. I'm using dyno gro bloom as directed and molasses one a week. I'm in between my 4th and 5th week of flower and I'm having a couple problems. Leaves were turning yellow so i added some nitrogen and it hasn't gotten worse but i have a few spots turning brown and i have more and more leaves with this white spotty stuff on them. I thought it may be mold but humility is not high and fan is always blowing. Plus it does not come off even when rubbed very hard. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

looks like mites, check the underside of the leaves.

you're too late in the cycle to really spray any pesticides. you could try something organic. like soybean oil. check out purecrop1 or green cleaner.

I checked for any pests. Looked top to bottom with magnifying glass and i see nothing. I've had spider mites on normal outside plants before so I'm a little familiar with them. Thank you!

A little nitro deficiency... and bugs .

You can either mix up a 50/50 mix of veg AND bloom feed to help stop the leaf fading slightly.
BUT it is because plant did not get to store ENOUGH in leaves when it was vegging , so it’s pulling from itself a bit much.

Or you can scratch in some new soil at top and water in for a quick boost.

Now .... BUGS ... grab some Capt. Jacks Bug Brew ... and mist her up.
This shit has SPINOSAD and will usually put the kabash on those little shits.
Read the label. It also WILL NOT RUIN THE FORMING FLOWERS.
Get it at most big box hardware stores ...

Question : if you shake plant slightly , do you see little flying things. ?

No flying things but i do see some sporadic black dots on under some leaves. That really sucks! It's never been outside.

Bugs happen everywhere and anywhere ... inside or out. That is why growers CLEAN tents and spaces after runs ... regardless of bugs or NOT. It is good practice to keep shit tidy.

Clean up dead organic shit that lays around ( leaves ) dirt mess , etc.

Bugs can hop on you and your clothing from outside and infect an area quickly.
Even being out on your grass yard , can bring shit in.

Practice PREVENTATIVE measures on all grows ... You can use spinosad , neem meal , and other methods to help keep things under control. Cuz once they got a foothold they become hard to control.

Do not take bug infestations lightly .... whiteflies , broadmites , spider mites , leaf miners , thrips , and a thousand other leaf sucking bastards can ruin your efforts. All those sticky buds will trap bugs inside too.

And who in the hell wants to smoke that shit ?

Thanks man! I will try to order that tomorrow. For now i just went with a flashlight and mag glass to every leaf and killed everyone i saw. One leaf near the bottom had a 5 so i just got rid of that one. Hopefully i can make it a few more weeks than it will be ready to go.

Hi, Its a keal kick in the stomach to get spider mites the 1st time, esp when you've kept them indoors. There are a load of different approaches for spider mites- spray on insecticide, diamaceous earth, home made topical sprays containing peppers, Neem oil etc. Its a war, so i'll usually employ 2-3 different tactics when i catch them. You can make some safe - for-flower sprays.
I learnt to bud wash after harvest to wash any traces of foliar sprays / spider mite webs out of buds. It works a treat too.
Good luck against those critters from hell, they'd have your head wrecked.

Spinosad is not very effective against mites. It is helpful in the sense that anything being sprayed on the underside on the leaves is going to kill some, but it is supposedly not chemically effective against them. I have read some anecdotal evidence that folks have had success with it, and I use it in preventative rotation myself, but never noticed it taking down any mite problem just like I never noticed neem oil taking down any thrip problems.

Neem oil this far into flower is not recommended, but you might want to try one application, followed by removing all leaves that have any sort of speckling damage. look for ANY speckling damage of any kind and remove it. This will help remove a lot of their eggs. Instead of follow up applications of Neem, order a couple thousand ladybugs, and daily, inspect for any signs of new speckling. Remove absolutely any leaves that look off every day. You should be able to keep the population knocked down enough to finish the run that way.

I have not used it, but have heard good things about using it during flower instead of Neem. In this route, spray every 3 days and remove speckled leaves daily for 21 days straight. This will effectively cycle through a few generations of mites, and you should have killed almost all of them after 3 weeks.

Goal here is to not allow the problem to run away from you. You have to be proactive and stay on top of mites. You won't kill them all once you have them, but you can minimize the problem.

Thank you very much guys! I went over every leaf top and bottom and killed everyone i could find. I cut all the infected leaves off and my buddy had just given us a ton of basil so i put some all around it to maybe help keep them down.
