Any guess to whats going on here?

there was a time when I first started growing...bought a lot of stuff I don't know why and don't use anymore..

on a side note this onle plant flowering seems to be really progressing fast, talking there was about 6 pistols on the tops yesterday and today there is double. I cant wait till it starts shaping into buds ..this is the worse time of the grow for me as it dosent look like anything bit a scraggly plant.. couple weeks from now once the buds start to really take shape is the best part, and I like vegging as well because you get to mold the plant as a whole itno what she will be when she grows up..

not sure why I just typed all that..lol
My sentiments exactly.

I bought lots of shit when I started.

I must have rearranged my room 3 or more times upgrading hoods and fans and reflective surfaces etc. cutting holes in doors then in ceilings, my 600 setup if I done it from the get go would have been about £1500 for equipment and everything including nutes, pots, medium and seeds etc but thanks to me always buying crap i actually had more like £4k invested.

My setup now cost around £400 to get back in the game after being busted. The only thing I buy now is NUTES and medium and then seeds. Lol. Oh if I had only known 5 years ago what I know now lol.

Like you know I'm a firm believer in the KISS approach, however I hammer the training during veg.

When I flipped to flower last week there was only about 3 nodes on each of my main branches, I must have trimmed away around 6-7 or more nodes lol.

I have a entire 32x32 grow tent not being used full of equipment not being used lol.....I very much like the KISS method. hopefully in the next grow I wont be so pressed for time and I can actually grow out a nice big plant and train it well.

I must have spent around $3000 on equipment and if you look at my setup now its prob about $250 lol...this is why I get so frustrated seeing people buy all this crazy shit.

my very first grow was made from a vaccume cleaner box and 4 26w CFL's haha.

that doesnt really look like cal mag... it looks like stress from neem oil, im guessing you coated the plants? either way it doesn't really look like much is going on nute wise. cal mag looks pretty distinct and would resemble more of a nitro def at first and then leaf chaos

wow topped off 4 days ago and went and checked water level and they were down about 1/2 way....topped off again and added some nutes. started small and added about 2 tblsp to about 1.5 gal of water to top off and only brought the PPM up to 425 >< so I added another glug and brought the PPM up to around 1020 and I think im going ot leave it there since this plant seems to be a heavy eater I want all avail that it wants....if I start seeing burning I will simply lower the PPM and call it a lesson learned.

PH is still low I will be ordering the Dyna-Gro Pro-tekt Tek-032 0-0-3 Silicon Supplement today.

so a little update on the 1020 PPM think...MY FUCKING PLANTS ARE DEAD!!

jk....actually the opposite....water levels have decreased and PPM has gone down to about 815...thinking maybe my original issue was too little PPM?

this thing seems to be a heavy feeder..going to bump up again?? thoughts?? 1200

overall the plant looks happier with the higher PPM

If your ppm's are still decreasing then the plant is feeding.

If you set it to 1020 and after a week it's dropped to 820 or whatever then just top up back to your 1020.

200ppm overall decrease in about a week is still well within range.

If you get that decrease in 24 hours then look to up your ppm.

Remember it's ALOT easier to correct under feeding than over feeding.

ok so the silicon is ordered...hopefully here in a few days and I can start getting my PH back on track..starting to see signs of lockout on a couple leaves so im hoping she holds for a couple more days.

she hermie on me a little, spent 30 min looking it over and plucking the pollen sacs off...win some and lose some...too far along now to do anything so hope for the best I guess. at least its for my personal use and picking seeds out isn't a big deal to me. shouldn't be many anyways.

I had a 2.5ft tall DELICIOUS COTTON CANDY that Hermied to fuck from around 2 weeks into 12/12.

I grew the him/she until ready. Every bud cluster had nanas.

I found about 20 seeds in a CARAMELO right next to the cotton candy, about 4 in my blue dream and actually none in my cotton candy lol.

HAHA right, funny how that works, in all honesty if you just shut off your fans for the grow probs have 0 seeds as long as theres no air movement.

anyways. my silicon wont be here till the 8th :( fkin did not plan right on putting money on my card as was 20 ¢ short to get the amazon prime one so I opted for the one I could afford with free 6 week shipping ><

think I should add a lil baking soda to the rez to get PH to climb up a bit till it gets here then do a good root rinse and rez change? im starting to see some necrotic spots on a leaf and am afraid if I leave it like it is for too long it will get worse.

pics in case anyone here wants to see how everything is doing..

the ones in soil/ewc seem to be doing great...all 3 bag seeds ended up female..i gave them a small feeding of the mixed veg/flower nutes I have just for a little extra PK boost for the transition to flower.

Looking a lot better. My rule of thumb for feeding (nutes is a ganga myth term, imo) is about 100ppm per inch of height.

- I don't feed anything at all but 80ppm RO for the first 2 weeks of rooting a clone in a cup.

Remember everyone, we are feeding a root ball. Only the root ball matters at first.. Most of the energy is going into that. If you stunt the root ball, by over feeding early, it won't recover in any reasonable time frame.

But, I find that a good health root ball can be feed with more PPM than it needs. If it is healthy it just lets the excess feed drain away.

This plant needs well drained soil, like grape does. And since that is true, I have found inert media to be the best for me. Then I can feed every day on a timer, and control the dose easily by measuring the, run in vs the run off, PPM.

yeah I think I fed them with a ppm of around 800, but I didn't top feed, I put the mix in a 5 gal bucket and set the pots in until they sank to the bottom then pulled out and let drain. they are in fabric pots so it works well this way and allows 100% of the medium to become saturated before draining..

Looking good now RM. Keep that ph in check and you should have a good harvest.
thanks, still a couple problems but im waiting for the mail man to deliver the solution. I don't like using baking soda to buffer PH because it just dosent seem right but cant have them locked out either. hopefully my silica is here by tomorrow and I can do a full rez change and get things back on track. she seems to be happy at around 1000-1200 ppm, when I adjust to 1000 I notice the ppm drops to around 800 in 2 days time and the water level goes down about 4 inches...so I top off and raise ppm back up, I don't measure nutes just dump in so I start with a small glug and if it brings it up to 1000 I leave it if it doesn't I add another small glug. if its is between 1000-1200 I leave it if its higher I dump some solution out and add some water.

Top feed or whatever, just need serious feeding techniques. That is certainly one. It is the draining that pulls fresh air in.

well I let them dry out very well before watering again so my soil becomes hydrophobic and top feeding never seems to saturate well without using a shitload of water. the fabric pots I use don't help either since the water can drain out the sides.

It is not right, since it is Sodium. What I learned is to leave it alone.

So my feed is 16-16-16, organic Sea Grow or Max Sea, all the way through.
To that I add Silica Blast and Botnicare Cal-Mag. I add a few beneficial microbes and make it up 20 gallons at a time, concentrated to 5000 ppm. I have 8 plants going in pair, 1 month apart.

I don't bother to chase PPM or pH. I ran computer sensors for months and see it drifts all over during 24 hours, anyway.
