I started a delivery service last month. It is going a better than I thought it would. Now I got a letter from the tax board and I have to pay some taxes. I took an accounting class at Oaksterdam U, since then I read that there were some changes to accounting for medical marijuana. I have been looking for an accountant here in Southern California, but my lawyer gave me a list of accountants in Northern California. I would rather conduct my business locally. There is one accountant in my town that works with collectives, but he is difficult to reach, and some of my associates says he is very expensive. I don't want to pay someone, that doesn't have time to talk, a bunch of money, when I could pay someone, that has time to help me file my quarterly taxes. I know basic accounting, so I really don't need a bunch of help, but I do want to get my ducks in a row, before my first payment is due. That way I'll be able to plan my next quarter a little better.

niche accountants like attorneys will probably be expensive. does Cali have an accountancy board that lists CPA's that specialize? You may have no choice but to travel. Good luck.

Go to a CPA. They are the only ones that will know all the tax laws. Schedule a meeting or just go in and ask them questions to see if they can aid you. H and R block will give you no aid, its like talking to a computer. Your neighbor won't know nearly enough shit to fully aid you from one tax class. Bookkeepers do balance sheets and shit. They don't know tax and thats why they are paid like 15 an hour. If you do it yourself you may fuck up and I wouldn't want to fuck up with the IRS especially in the marijuana industry. I would personally go to whoever my lawyer suggested because I'm figuring he specializes in the medical industry and would know his shit(and other colleagues who do as well).

Emailed and called a few accountants and haven't heard back from any. Guess accountants in San Diego are too gutless to work with our delivery services.
