any different germinating methods?

so im starting my second grow and i have the opposite problem then ive ever had. before when i had a couple cfl's i could germ and grow plants but i couldnt keep them alive and now that i have a 400 hps i cant even germ a dam seed. any methods different from paper towel method?

You know you don't need lights to germ, right? The type of light you have shouldn't matter. The paper towel method hasn't failed me yet.

i just put some different seeds in the bag. the germ rate was only 3/15. ive never done that bad with the paper towel method. i also just put some seeds in shot glasses with water and root stimulator. so what you need to germ? just heat?

Ive done the paper towel trick...lightly damped paper towel...i have always put mine in a ziplock bag and set in a dark cool area...now at the same time...i have set these aside and forgot about them before...just to open the towel and find mold and roots...just keep an eye on them

i have to. a whole wall of my room is a grow setup. i have 3 fans going. lol its gettin f***in hot

also...juicyness as my avatar, was dropped in soil, watered and under a light....came up no probs...took about 3 days or so i think...was back in november, honestly i cant remember could have been 3-5 days or something like that...but they came up. Just make sure the cup or pot its in stays moist for the first couple days...your initial watering should be enough to get it to pop up if you chose that method

Don't use root stimulator to germ. Save it for sprouts and use the shit sparingly.

i have the 3 that cracked open in a tupperware thing with soil and a lid

Hopefully you'll have better luck this time. When they finally sprout, keep that HPS at least 2 feet away and check for heat with your hand near the sprouts. If it's too hot for your hand, back off the light.

i have a 2ft x 2ft fan on the hps area so its nice and cool. now i have the shot glasses with water and seeds and the tupperware thing under 5 26watt-cfl's. if it works ill make a journal

i just keep mine in a ziplock bag on the windowsill nd check them every now and then.

I have had alot of trouble getting my seeds to germ. also. then I read a thread about putting a few drops of Hydrogen Peroxide into a shot glass with water, drop the seeds in andwithin 2 days they should pop. Well, not only did they pop, they had 1/2" white tails on them. Put them in soil, under my CFL"s, watered and they took off. Don't have any pictures but they are about 5" now at 3 weeks.

your not supposed to have light to germinate. just in a warm dark place, like a closet is where i always do mine. just wait about three days or so and you'll be good.
