Usjng the hair straightner I was doing around 280f now with the press I can do as low as 150f

I picked up a 3/4 by 7 tube. With all the problems I've read about people having, I didn't expect a nice tan color bho. But my yeild was way low. Even after I used a 300ml can I still saw lots of trichs on bud/trim.
Used 1/2 fresh frozen, 1/2 half dry bud. Packed pretty full.
How tight should tube be?
This stuff is crazy potent. Like an amount the barely produces smoke in the exhale gets me blazed. Maybe it's just my low tolerance though.
In the pic, the blackish color in middle was from a mistake made in getting off Pyrex. This stuff is all tan and so gooey.

There's still trichomes on the bud after you blast. They're just "empty". Or mostly "empty".

Skunk Pharm Research covers the basic extraction techniques in a less fragmented format, though there are no threads yet about Rosin. Not an indictment against it, as I personally like Rosin, and some of the best solventless entries in concentrate cups that I've helped judge, were produced by that process.

No purge. I will cite sources if need be, but butane not toxic to humans.
I used hot water, double boiler style to evap.
When I do my next run, I'm going to use a hot plate/skillet to do a heat purge and see if I can tell a difference. If I can't, then I won't do purge anymore.

There is just sooooo much info about making bho and soooo many ways to do it, along with a bunch of "NO you can't do it that way, you gotta do it THIS way!"

No purge eh... it looked like it wasn't purged which Is why I asked. There's so many benefits to having a well purged oil over unpurged...
As for the butane not being.toxic to humans, that doesn't mean its good for.you to.be inhaling. And what happens to butane during pyrolysis?
If i remember correctly it turns into benzene...look up that one and see if your still so.comfortable with no purging.

Purging CORRECTLY makes a hyooge difference.
Yes you can unpack your tube, dry it, then run it again... But the quality is shit, uses more butane than worth, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Is a 15min 170 degree purge in oven good in your eyes?
I will purge that way from now on because non purge bho I did on my 1st run was like damn honey and almost impossible to handle. Now it's a nice wax/play doughy consistency.

You're getting rid of most of your flavors at that temp, but it's better then not purging. That's how I did it old school.
You really need a vac oven, or at least a heated vac chamber to keep a low heat and retain flavors while purging. IMO.
